the greatest is an amazing song but it would be strange if she covered cat power lol. nina simone, bobby vinton, leonard cohen, then...sublime and....cat power.

edit: Aleister Crowley for some more witchy stuff! He was a huge figure in the occult world (pre-Anton LaVey), and Lana mentions him by name in Get Free. His work is pretty dense though.

what does the theme "camp" of the met gala mean ?

its based on an essay by susan sontag called "notes on camp." she tries to define what "campy" means. outlandish, heightened, exaggerated. drag queens and outdated stereotypes of gay men are considered campy. but tbh even some of lana's work could be considered camp (the more theatrical, melodramatic). some really good examples are john waters' movies (and he and lana are fans of one another!)

i love lana to death but this era of churchgoing and flats and cardigans is really taking a god damn toll on me

So far I really enjoy these songs. I think Medellín is excellent and I Rise certainly isn't bad. I truly hated Rebel Heart but this album seems really promising. Love the album covers too.
