Who would she be trying to impress her with this? Interesting you think it’s her being pretentious, because I took those as being more “raw” and “personal”. Wbk she’s over making overproduced music and she’s said she only did that to be pretentious.

She was never making overproduced music to begin with. Rich productions yes , but not overproduced . I don't know my friend to me stuff like this don't make the material raw and personal. I will just try to piece the scenes to a short music video and get over with it :P

Sure. I don’t know why this annoyed so many. I’m simply stating that I’m tired of fans constantly complaining about her work and never being happy. Of course you can have opinion, but there is a line between having an opinion and just complaining. Lana is a person, and she does not owe us anything. If I disliked her new work as much as some fans do, then I wouldn’t be a fan anymore, or simply just not be so invested. I think it’s important to respect Lana

Thanks for the reply, I get your point and I agree. But I can't help but feeling a bit like everything she does has to be kind of pretentious these days. From including vape sounds and background talks to the songs , to giving us a classic Music video but still out of reach. It's like it is there but it's not . I enjoyed the music video a lot but I would replay it endlessly if the edit was done in a way that it makes me enjoy the beautiful visuals and not hiding them.:legend:

same issue here, and it gets so repetitive. the rest of the song is somewhat ok although it’s far from good lyrics, but this line is just too much i hate it

    Dope and diamonds
    Dope and diamonds
    Diamonds

i know this is satire, but very poorly written + the guitar while she sings that sounds so silly

    Feel it in your bones

This is a simple song, gonna write it for a friend

He met Margaret on a rooftop, she was wearin' white
And he was like, "I might be in trouble"

    When you know, you know

there’s prob more but i’m too lazy to search for it

It’s extremely painful how much opinions differ . Most of the parts of the songs  you mention are my favourite ones .

  4. Hello All.

I hope you are all doing well.

The past month has been a trainwreck , I started to get into the A.I covers because many people in this community wanted to listen to their favorite songs but with Lana's Vocals, just like myself. I got into fights with people on this forum and on YouTube and let me tell you it was exhausting . I do not have to answer to anybody who does not enjoy what I do. Many people really appreciated my efforts . IF you enjoy something ENJOY IT . IF you don't like something then WALK,AWAY. Simple as that. Continuous  reports from sad people who hide their traumas  behind a keyboard managed to get my Youtube account blocked and all my videos are now deleted . I do not have any words for this . Just sad. Other fanbases are really positive and enjoy this new trend . I do not understand why our fanbase has to act like that .

Mods if you please close this thread ,

I would really appreciate it .

And to people who actually enjoyed the ride , I am glad .

To people who decided to be ***holes  and reported my videos DAILY for a MONTH, life will treat you accordingly so I don't hold any grudges.

    Bye.

Firstly, Lana does have experience producing and has those credits on multiple songs. She's been doing it since the Lizzy Grant days. Ultraviolence (which half of this site acts like is the only album Lana's ever made that's worth listening to) even has songs where Lana has producer credits (PWYC and Guns and Roses). I simply don't think it's accurate to say that Lana's not a producer because she's done it before and I'm sure she'll do it again.

Secondly, the producer is not the artist! It's really that simple. At the end of the day, it's not about what the producer wants because it's not their album. I think people hold way too much stock in the man behind the scene rather than the person who's actually putting the album out, writing the music, and hiring these producers to help her to best display her vision. It's not about the producers: it's about Lana.

This is a very stupid argument that should not be had in this thread so moving on. I'm really loving Let The Light In lately. It's currently my most streamed song from the album.

Ok I hear you . We are dealing three scenarios : A)Lana decided to ditch what made her special ( at least in my eyes -Im talking about vocal delivery - rich and flawless instrumentals )

B)Jack’s production is stealing the magic in her music

    C) Jack is influencing Lana to sound more generic and far away from her signature sound

Whatever is happening in reality it all comes down to Lana starting working with Jack . Ever since then we have the production issues . And it’s not a stupid argument that should not be in this thread because this argument is also about her recent album .

I like tunnel a lot , I mean half of the songs are already very high on my list . But if it weren’t for the same issues we have been facing again for third time in a row I would enjoy it way way more .
I don’t understand why people act like crazy when someone says that they miss the old production .

Never the less , I wouldn’t make such a fuzz about it if it weren’t for the past few leaks that have driven me crazy and thirsty for songs that have that fire 🔥 I so long for . ( I’m taking about pink champagne, summertime demo )

For those who enjoy her last albums like I enjoy ultraviolence and honeymoon , I envy you a lot .
Take care and enjoy the music !!!

TBH all the "Jack vs other producers talk" makes Lana look like someone who's artistic integrity, process, and growth is tied to the men she's worked with--rather than accepting that she's forged her own way and evolved into the musician she wants to be.

Lana is in complete creative control, and to blame her falters on Jack or any other producer also means to diminish her successes as the result of her producers; both are untrue.

Please listen to her whole discography every single unreleased song available to us , and then come back and tell me that her sound is not connected with the people she works with . Of course she has a signature sound she is miss F Lana Del Rey  BUT, denying the input of the people behind her albums is just like hiding an elephant inside a room . Lana is a singer songwriter. Not a *producer*. It is the producers job to challenge the artists , to make sure that the ideas come into fruition , that the sound is crystal clear and the production shines and compliments the soundscapes the artist has dreamed of . Ultraviolence ended up being her masterpiece  because she was pushed to her limits .

Ok so since we’re doing rankings

    16. Sweet - sorry to say I feel nothing when I listen to this song. It’s kinda giving me Sound Of Music (not sonically, but it’s the imagery that pops into my head when I hear it) but there’s nothing special about it

    15. Jon Batiste Interlude - actually kinda disappointed with this. The instrumental is gorgeous and the concept of an interlude of the just jamming is great, but come on… If this was 1 minute long it would’ve been fine, but I’m not listening to all this cackling and yelling for 4 minutes

    14. Paris, Texas - again, pretty, but not feeling anything special about it

    13. Margaret - this song needed some fleshing out. I actually kinda like the first half, and Jack’s vocals are not too jarring (although a bit), but the second half just goes on for way too long with only the outro being interesting

    12. Judah Smith Interlude - she really took us to church, huh. I really like the instrumental and the cinematic vibe. Again, this should not be almost 5 minutes long, but the way this one ties into the themes of the album makes me appreciate it more

    11. Title Track - from this point and forward all songs I really like. The lyrics of this one are amazing, but I wish it exploded a little bit more in the end. Still a great track

    10. Kintsugi - it wasn’t clicking for me for a long time, but I do appreciate it more after more listens. I wish the vocals were clearer here and the way she says “Kintsugi” is rythmically horrible, but the rest of the lyrics save this song.

    9. The Grants - stunning opener, the lyrics hit hard, the gospel singers are AMAZING and the piano melody in this song is just so so so amazing

    8. Fingertips - this would’ve been much higher if not for unicorn throwing up sounds instead of the word mother. It really is jarring to hear this break of the whole flow of the song. The lyrics here - so vulnerable, so honest. Every time I listen I find something new to hit me in the feels. Also love the repeating of “two seconds to cry” throughout. It really adds structure to the song and connects it together

    7. Grandfather - her voice in this one is STUNNING. The build up is what I expected from the title track, all the instruments in the background coming together. Something about this song really gives me chills on each listen

    6. Let The Light In - very classic Lana song, Tomorrow Never Cane’s happier sister, the voices blend sooo well and the strings and harmonies on the last chorus alone puts this song in my favourite songs from her ever

    5. A&W - I really feel like I should rank this higher, but I overplayed it a little bit so I physically can’t. But this really is a monumental track, it has everything and is a highlight in her career.

    4. Taco Truck x VB - one of her best, if not the best, closer she’s had. Venice Bitch was really made to be a closing track.

    3. Peppers - this one… I kinda hated it for a while, but I couldn’t get it out of my head at the same time. But when it grows on you - it’s an absolute bop. I love the hook, I love the messy, chaotic production, I love the freaky lyrics, this song is just a whole lotta fun

    2. Candy Necklace - BEAUTIFUL, so so so beautiful. This song is so haunting and eerie, while being extremely simple. When on an album with songs like LTLI, Fishtail and Peppers, a piano song stands out as the most interesting one - you know Lana’s doing her magic again. I genuinely cannot explain why this song entices me so much, but it does.

    1. Fishtail - I know the lyrics are far from the strongest here, the production sounds “cheap” to many. But for me this is the Cinnamon Girl x Tulsa Jesus Freak x Summer Bummer child that I always wanted to hear from her. It’s absolutely perfect and I love every second of this song.

idk who will read all this nonsense from me but if you did thank you :pray2:

Holly! I Agree 100% I would replace kintsugi with sweet . That's all.

i think fingertips was really important to have on this album and while i realize that a lot of ppl can’t resonate with basically spoken word poetry as a 6 minute song, i am always fascinated and enamored to hear a streamline of her inner most thoughts. personally i want to know everything and i’m grateful that she wants to share it with us

I find fingertips better than kintsugi

This might be an unpopular opinion, but if you don’t enjoy her slower and stripped back music you might as well unstan. since 2019 we’ve been going through this same cycle where they keep trashing the album because it has piano ballads? you can be a fan of her old albums or whatever but take your negative energy somewhere else. it’s her new style and you’re gonna have to put up with it

Acceptance is one thing . Having opinion is a whole different story.

  10. I can’t predict . But I can wish for

Take inspiration from classic 60s-70s songs and make beautiful modern productions . I wouldn’t mind something uptempo -hip hop combined with west coast vibes .

and for the shake of our existence . No more Jack and whisper singing - phone recordings   .
