    I don’t think people would be complaining nearly as much about this if she didn’t talk up a new psychedelic sound/massive attack influences/etc. 

     

    all of the choices around this are really odd though. She really had huge critical and commercial hype I feel like after FN for being a hit maker that created (and perfected nearly) a niche sound that was really her own and she just kind of did…nothing with it. It’s just a miss I think to follow up FN with an album as beige as this. 
     

    this would have made more sense to follow up her debut imo, but to downgrade to this after something as focused as FN is weird. 
     

    Not to say there aren’t decent bops on here, but overall this is a miss for me

    I don’t know if she had a relationship with Sophie but those lyrics are sort of weird to me

    also, you are not being held hostage :rip: if you don't like the current direction her career is going...then just don't pay attention. 

     

    and people have this conversation literally all the time in album threads and it ends up being a lot more productive than this because you are sharing an opinion as if it is a fact that everyone on this site must accept...because you say so?

    Ya I don’t understand why that site counts for anything honestly. Especially since they now know that most pop-related fanbases hate them so they always rate popular stuff super low :rip: 

     

    idk how metacritic will deal with it,  but AOTY already allocated the two scores to the different versions so :rip:
