Now that I think about it, is this the first show she’s ever done where she hasn’t sang Blue Jeans since like the beginning of her LDR career? I feel like that song has been on every single setlist since the beginning of time along with Video Games & Born to Die, the latter of which she also didn’t perform. Of course since this was a Folk festival it made sense without it, but I feel like by now Blue Jeans should be traded out for a different song for her usual setlist. She does love performing it though which is probably why it’s stuck around as long as it has x

I think she could very easily do a 10-12 minute party medley of all the BTD hits. It would demolish the crowds and it would be super high energy and at the same time it would leave enough time for her other amazing songs. Or she should just start doing 2hr shows because 1.5hrs is just not enough

her current album has been promoted. Ads across social media, posters in multiple countries. Tulsa billboard. Multiple magazine shoots / interviews. Pop up shops. Several vinyl variations and lots of merch. Festival performances of new songs from the album. What the hell else do you want her to do??????????

I guess people want more TV appearances but honestly who even watches TV anymore…. The album was widely promoted on social media, it is what matters

Muscle Shoals Sound called in local keyboardist Will Allison to record with Del Rey. Allison accompanied the “Summertime Sadness” and “West Coast” singer on Hammond B-3 organ and the studio’s baby-grand piano, the same piano the original demo for Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird” was cut on. “She sang and Will wrote the music as she sang,” Hyde says, “and they were a great pair.” Audio engineers Chase Brandon and Colin Lott recorded the sessions.

Also Lana again intentionally choosing a low quality mic :icant:

"Lana Del Rey recorded 3 or 4 songs for a secret project, reveals Ana Megan Hyde, manager of "Muscle Shoals Road' Studio"

    “A secret project” doesn’t sound promising:awkney:

Dan Auberbach was a good example of different producer inspiring her.

That was a million years ago in a different universe

I agree with Jack producing some of the best songs of her but I feel like they kinda started to inspire each other less with new albums. I feel like new producers will push her more for new inspiring sounds.

Inspiration can also come from comfort as well. She apparently values personal relationships a lot and they are a big part of her music. I don’t think we will get the same result if she sits with a complete stranger in the studio, however genius they are

I really don’t like fingertips but a strong melody is super important for me so that’s why I don’t like it and if it’s not as important for you I can see why people like it. But something I love about Lana is her gorgeous

melodies and to me that song is just the anti-thesis of the rest of her work… which makes sense and it’s kind of a cool idea it’s just not for me personally

Weird that you say that because the melody of fingertips to me is one of the most memorable from Tunnel and the other day I was so shocked when I was singing the song that I remember the entire vocal line and lyrics without any issues. Fascinating how people view music differently and another example of Lana’s genuis

Ya tbh I think sometimes I get the impression Jack is overworked, but he actually is super talented (he’s proved that with much of his work), and that’s why Lana x Jack has such high highs and the lows are just eh. The only song they’ve made together that I genuinely think was bad was lmlylaw. I think he probably feels burnt out from the amount of demand he is in, he must be constantly working.

Also his work on Violet and JS interlude, which is pretty experimental, is impeccable

I like Jack but I dont like him at the same time but I’d much rather her work with him than Drew Erickson

Jumping in on Jack: I think he likes working with her because she’s the one artist that wouldn’t be opposed to experimenting- A&W is a perfect example of both of them unleashing their creative freedom. With Taylor he couldn’t do this
