… i don’t think she was mean or petty, just a little motherly like she said kim is exceptionally talented. she also just recognizes, based on the reviews and probably twitter, that kim is in a phase that she has been in before too with sucker! to me it felt more like “she’ll be fine, she’s talented” also, keep in mind that she might know some behind the scenes stuff. especially the last part of the message makes me think that. maybe luke did force kim to make this album? etc

yeah i mostly meant leaving his record label (Republic) that she’s signed to and songs like Uhoh and Claws show us that she’s capable of making some good songs without him as producer. (He’s an extremely good producer though, which explains the quality of TOTL/Clarity i guess)

I feel like she could be huge but she HAS to cut off Dr. Luke (which is hard bc of the contract she’s in now), bring up to quality of her music back to Clarity/TOTL level and then make an album that artistically is really “Kim” but with 2-3 potential radio hits on it (in a “Uhoh” way, not the bland “Alone” way). This would make her regain some of her fans back as well and perhaps there could be a charli feature too to boost this a little

i wanted so ask her what her thoughts are on kim working with luke but got scared

i still think it sounds like a mario kart song (in the best way possible) imagine listening and playing as princess peach in her hot pink car speeding on those amphetamine mushrooms and obliterating mario’s ass with the red shield, iconic

Meteorite, Fuck Love, Holding Back, The Devil and Burn are good songs, but yes, the record is definitely not III level and especially not on The Altar/Goddess their level. She is talented asf tho so I hope her next era will be perfect (maybe some gay should sabotage her love life for new bops jk jk)

or some people genuinely don’t like the album? its a step down from her previous work. the criticism is very valid, not only from the critics but also the long time fans who notice the quality difference.. the album has some fun songs, but could’ve been much better (for example it feels like a playlist, no cohesion at all)

she, a feminist being very vocal about mostly abusive men, working with a woman that’s mocking and denying a victim of SA and other abusive behavior from a white male, is just very strange… Kim is signed to republic records, which is Dr. Luke his record label. BANKS is directly filling Dr. Luke’s pockets, it’s very valid criticism. I love BANKS but this is definitely a very strange move to a lot of her fanbase. To victims of abuse, this just feels so…wrong? Just ingenuine I guess but i digress
