so high school is actually great and so funny, it's a bummer so many people don't have any literacu or sense of humor when it comes to taylor's writing and take everything so seriously

  3. red is on my top 3, but i never listen to the more pop leaning songs in it. it would be perfect as a country album. when i listen to red my tracklist excludes: trouble, 22, wanegbt and stay stay stay

i dread rep and debut tv more than any others :oprah2:

i think debut is going to be great, i'm taking fearless as an example since it is the most similar to debut in sound and (imo) the best re-recording. also taylor didn't really know how to sing on half of the songs on debut so i'm super excited to hear those songs with her older voice. since she announced the re-recordings this was the album i was most excited to hear and she decided to release it last :crai:

  5. i was a gaylor apologist cause i do like some of their interpretations of taylor's songs and i was even able to entertain the idea, but after ttpd all the songs that sounded kinda gay to me turned out to be about matty healy :toofloppy:

My thoughts exactly. Now when do we think rep tv and debut tv are coming? :oopna:

i hope rep by the second semester and debut in the beginning of next year. can't wait for the re-records to be over and this overexposure to die down a bit, i'm kinda tired of everything she does becoming internet discourse for weeks

  7. i saw some people in this thread shitting on the anthology, and honestly i totally understand but to me the best tracks on ttpd are on that version. the black dog, the albatross, chloe sam sophia or marcus, how did it end, i hate it here, THE PROPHECY!!!!!!!!!!, cassandra; this part of the album just sonds like evermore (my fav album) if taylor were writing more directly diaristic songs. i'm in love with the songwriting and the melodies on those songs. it is a very flawed album but after 3 days listening to it non stop i can say i understand why she says she "needed" to write these. this album feels so unfiltered, like i'm listening to her stream of conciousness, and i love it.

    moving on from- that...

it's literally impossible to listen to florida!!! in public bc i cannot listen to it without manically head-banging to the drums :excited:

i was on a walk listening to the album and i couldn't stop from doing it in the middle of a street :rip: i don't think anyone saw me tho (thank god :crai:)

does anyone find themselves with the some ordeal?

omg i do the same but idc at this point i can't help it

  9. kinda unreleated but i get a little bummed so many artists associated with taylor in some way are releasing country albuns and apparently none of them thought to call taylor for a collab. i would accept even taylor being backing vocal in one of the songs from lasso, and even post malone of all people was invited to be on cowboy carter

its kinda funny to me how she chose the worst tracks on the album as bonus tracks for all the variants, with the exception of The Bolter, which is great

justice for the albatross, giving evermore realness

couldn't agree more. to quote a tweet i saw: if the critics had been honest about midnights we wouldnt be in this situation rn.

oh my god this is so true. she thrives on proving critics wrong but now shes so big theyre afraid of saying anything bad about her work.

  12. the anthology tracks are giving strong folkmore vibes, not only the sound but also the lyrics, while the standand is a lot more midnights esque

Okay yeah this isn’t sticking for me. Disappointed but :oprah6: I’ll be back if she ever gets a new producer. One user said it best when they said she’s become comfortable and lazy in her sound. Songs aren’t bad, they’re just not doing anything for me. Like at all. I feel so indifferent towards it :sadcore:

shes definitely in her confort zone right now, maybe cause she doesnt gaf anymore or maybe because shes on top of the world and people eat put everything she puts out. once she's off that hyper productive streak i think she'll probably make more interesting things again

I’ve been reading your reviews and comments without having listened to any songs and I really can’t get my head around on the sound of this album.. :tiffany2: « It’s Midnights 2.0 » « No it’s not » « reminds me of Reputation » « Reminds me of a mix of folklore and lover and reputation with some Red sounds on one track » :tiffany2:

Fortnight is probably the song I’m most worried about…

      Reveal hidden contents

… with all those name calling on a « poet » album?!? :puzzled:

trust me it has the same sound as the 1989 vault, that is the same description i can give in terms of production, for the lyrics i think its a mix between midnights and red, very off the pocket lines tbh

People hating on the album because it's wordy... Since when is that a bad thing :um4:

Still surprised that nobody cancelled her for Orange Juice, specially with how sensitive people are with that subject. Ms Potato Head and Tag, Your It also treat touchy topics but are still artistic and in good taste… OJ on the other hand, just seems on poor taste… and maybe a little too literal… a metaphor comparing vomit with juice… wtf :awkney2::bebe:

and the "noo dont purge ur so sexyy haha" of it all is definitely not it
