kinda sounds like extreme occident by Madonna? idk the melody is so similar I guess, I was instantly reminded. It's more whimsical though, very soundtrack-y

Lana albums are a super slow burn to me, so I never click with them right away - for instance, it took me 8 months to fully absorb BB.

So, I'm taking my time with DYKTTATUOB, but I mean, it's hot. I think it's very avant garde tbh, as Jack said - she doesn't need to follow rules, she's setting them. It'll probably be hard to process for me as a long time fan, so I honestly think the GP won't like it, aside from a few songs that'll "save it". 

My favorites so far:

Peppers - I loved it since the first listen, I wanted a new Lana bop so bad

Kintsugi - one of the most gorgeous melodies ever

Let the light in - reminds me of my ex, fml 

Candy Necklace - is that bitch, but I feel the HQ version is going to be 1000 times better

Taco Truck - I wish we had more of this song instead of VB honestly  it's amazing and so fresh, the style suited Lana like a glove, the lyrics were cute af. 

I'll take my time and I know that I'll love every song in a few months from now 'cause I always do, I never skip a single LDR song

I stan Jon Batiste now  his voice worked so well with Lana, even though it's just 2 words, I can't. Plus the interlude sounds hella cute too.

Can't wait to listen to Candy Necklace in HQ though

I think her goal when releasing LFL and the whole "Lana is finally smiling on the cover!" thing was to become happy... and that included facing her demons/her relationship with her mom/ her relationship with men - she just went through a dark night of the soul basically, no wonder she mentioned Jung in interviews. And her speech on Billboard really ties this all together 

Why do I have a feeling that the album that follows this one will be her magnum opus?

Don't get me wrong, DYKTTATUOB is shaping up to become one of my favorites, but I feel a similar vibe coming from the LFL-NFR transition (I love this transition tbh). I just feel like the next album is going to be much more thought out (not that this one isn't! that's not what I mean ), this time it sounds like she needed to get a lot of stuff off her chest to start brand new... in her fake latina era again? Idk maybe  but I'm excited

Not to be annoying or anything bc it's absolutely up to you, BUT if you ever work on an extended version of Taco Truck or something plssss let us know  I don't check youtube that much lol

As usual I'm gonna need my time with the album, but I know all songs will grow on me once I have actual human experiences with them as a soundtrack.

In the meantime, I have to say though ---- the album makes absolutely no sense, like, how can we have Kintsugi and Peppers on the same album  it's really giving LFL in terms of cohesiveness, not that that bothers me tbh, I'm not very into cohesion... but I'd love to read the narrative theories later
