sometimes I think people just like visual eras more than the actual music which is why UV stans are so hard to please….if Ocean Blvd actually had visuals it would definitely be at the top of people’s list….cause the music is objectively better than NFR. I said what I said

I won’t be replaying the interludes much but I do appreciate how much they contribute to the atmosphere of the albums uniqueness and weirdo sensibility, it contributes to the full album experience

SpoilerHer vocals has never sounded more emotive as they do in this album…..the way she sings “tragedy” in Fingertips kills meeee….and don’t get me started on Grandfathers vocals….
Her vocals on this album…^

SpoilerHonestly it’s too soon for her to add VB into her album. If it was 2030 then it would’ve hit harder. But it still feels so new and fresh that it honestly just confused me….especially as a closer….

What do y'all think this meant? I have this theory I'll put after the verse
When I was fifteen, naked
Next door neighbors did a drive-by
Pulled me up by my waist, long hair to the beachside
I wanted to go out like you
Swim with the fishes that he caught on Rhode Island beaches
But sometimes it's just not your time
When I first listened to the track, I thought she's telling us abt a moment in her life where maybe she was so high on drugs/or so drunk at home, then her mother arrives, sees Lana so drunk/high to the point of almost getting an OD (or even ODing) and pulled her by her waist taking her to the hospital or wtv, while neighbors were passing by seeing the whole thing. The line I wanted to go out like you to me means she really tried killing herself by taking pills/doing drugs or something along the line. I know some of you talked abt this being abt rape & that could be the reason of why she did that stuff.
SpoilerShe’s definitely singing about a suicide attempt. Her Uncle Dave who she references in that song, reportedly lived in Rhode Island for some time and fished a lot. He died while rock climbing. Which is referenced in this song. I think this is the same uncle who taught her guitar, so he must’ve meant a lot to her.
I noticed a lot of the piano songs are based around mortality and get very metaphysical

Just now, maysparkle said:I really don’t know…. Ever since she switched her primary producer to Drew Erickson for Blue Banisters, the mixing has been kinda of. Which is shocking since I remember during UV she said she would make the mix the album until it’s perfect, took 5 months. Now she’s kinda meh about it, it seems

for it being her longest album to date, it surprisingly didn’t seem very long, which is definitely a good sign

SpoilerI think they love NFR too much to give it that high. But I do think it will get somewhere between 8.4 to 8.7

SpoilerOk I like Margaret a bit more now, turns out I just needed to lower my headphone volume from full blast 🤭

SpoilerThis album just sounds so beautifully chaotic…it’s very hard to describe. You can hear her exorcising her demons in these tracks. It incorporates every musical aspect of her as well as so much more…
also she sounds truly happy and at peace which makes me happy .
-
SpoilerJust finished…wow….the excellence
I loved everything except Paris, Texas and Margaret….something about the mixing towards the end of the album sound a bit muffled and muddy….then again my headphones might just be shit

-
SpoilerOk this album is already on par with NFR, so I’m expecting NFR level reviews from critics.
now if only we had some visuals to make this feel like an era….then we’d be set

SpoilerHonestly that one insider overhyped Taco Truck x VB outro….saying “it will go down in history”…..like it’s literally just Venice Bitch slapped onto the end of Taco Truck??? VB is my favorite song of all time ….but she could’ve done a lil bit more with it….maybe in HQ there will be more elements.
But what would’ve been way more exciting was if she sampled songs from all her different eras as an outro over VB’s instrumental….imagine the iconory 😮💨

SpoilerJust listened to Peppers….the diversity on this album while still sounding semi cohesive…oh she’s definitely hitting another peak in her career
-
Also crazy and devastating to know her uncle died while she was on tour and none of us even knew that. I don’t remember her posting about it or anything. She’s so quiet about her inner world. So much we are gonna learn about her in this album. I’m nervous and excited

Me being the first to make the connection about Lana’s uncle Dave with the song weeks ago by finding his obituary, only for Genius to delete my annotation and replace it with someone who just took what I said and edited it nicer. I hate it here….but I’m glad to help fans understand the lyrics better….
SpoilerThis tidbit about her Uncle will come up again and help people understand Fingertips more

But why would they do listening parties on Wednesday when the album is out on Friday? Would it count towards the UK Charts?
