  1. Have y’all noticed that Doin’ Time is rising on iTunes and radio? I smell a potential hit if she puts an ounce of effort into promoting it

I'd love to see her put in at least a minimal effort promoting it too (her singing to the song on her instagram doesn't count....), but you know it will never happen. Promoting her music is a concept our girl is no longer subscribing to.  :pft:

  2. FEAR is so much better than LOVE to my ears! I'm loving all the tracks.

Soft to Be Strong just broke my heart, what a beautiful song. The line "Somebody hurt me long ago, and though to heal a heart is slow, it's just a consequence of pain" just had me ugly crying, it spoke to me on a personal level.  :icant:

  3. What do we think some of Lana’s saddest songs are, both lyrically and sonically?

    Fine China

    Born to Die

As someone who struggles with suicidal thoughts these just makes me cry a lot cause they make me think about dying (lol sorry for being a bummer). I remember putting on the album when it came out and hearing Born to Die and just crying cause she sang everything I felt.

  4. a good % of these just seem like things she wanted to do but probably couldn't cause she was depressed and i don't think we should vilify her for that.

I agree, I definitely have sympathy for that. I think it's more a frustration that she tends to speak out about ideas long before they have any basis in reality, so people get hyped and then stuff never comes out.

Big picture, Lana has given us a lot of stuff over the years, she has a pretty big output compared to a lot of other artists out there. I'm certainly very grateful for that.

  5. I came to hang my head in shame (and brag a little). I just met Tom in the French Quarter in New Orleans! He was really really nice and talked about how happy they are to be playing the fest and Venice Bitch and MAC. Then he said be quiet about the setlist lmao.

But I was a little shooketh and forgot to ask about the album SORRY LADIES!!

You had one job!!!  :bye2: (JK, I probably would have been too shy to ask and he probably wouldn't have spilled anything anyway <3)

  6. But again, I don't particularly support the idea of following Lana blinding solely because the music is good :sadcore:

I just hope if any other news comes out that further equates to the idea that Lana has knowledge on the circumstances, that fans won't brush it off simply because the beats give them life :biblio:

I agree. I've been following this thread and I think you've been a good voice of reason. I've stopped listening to artists I held dear before because of things they've done, I find it hard to enjoy someone's music if they do something that I find deplorable because it just sits in the back of my head when I try to listen to their songs.

I'm not there with Lana yet, not even close - just saying I agree with not following anyone blindly, no matter how much you like them. It isn't healthy. This whole Hillsong mess has me worried though. I gotta say it's the first time I feel like I've lost a bit of respect for her. I'd be extremely sad if I lost the ability to enjoy my favorite artist of seven years.

  7. I don't think that there is anything that justifies following her anymore. I don't see how she could reinvent herself or do something relevant musically. She has an intriguing voice but that's about it. I clarified for myself that she represented to me some kind of a demented online crush (she got me somehow with her morose attitude and her sexy voice) which is now fading away. All that is left is the neurosis and the bafflement about the time that I spent thinking about a virtual entity because she never become something real to me. I went back to listening classical music as I was before discovering her. Since this is my last post here I recommend to all of you to listen to Bach and his peers and maybe some of you will be embarrassed by the scrobbles you had recently. I wish LDR/E. Grant the best

  8. Also, I don't really care if Lana isn't a hugely popular star or if she ever returns to her BTD pop sound. I've liked basically every song she's ever made and I'll probably go on still liking everything she does. Not every singer needs to be a pop star and make huge numbers, some thrive well with a smaller dedicated fanbase. It doesn't really seem like Lana wants to be a pop star anymore anyway, what with never doing promo anymore and all. :whatever2:

  9. How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is a better record than Honeymoon (and I listen to it more often than HM already) this is a personal opinion don't kill me :creep:

I agree, HBHBHB is a great album and it tells a story, every song fits in its place perfectly! It's probably my favorite album of the year so far. BUT Lana is my favorite artist, so Honeymoon holds a special place in my heart - even if I think there's a lot of albums released this year that are objectively better in many ways.
