Tragedia en Brasil: una fan de Taylor Swift murió de un paro cardíaco antes de que empezara el show | TN

Ana Benavides (23) died from a cardiac arrest moments before Taylor Swift hit the stage in Rio de Janeiro due to the ongoing heat wave in the country, with temperatures higher than 50°C/122°F. Over 1,000 fainted and were hospitalized. Fans denounce they weren't allowed to enter the stadium with bottles of water and there wasn't any water available inside. Swift herself had to stop the show multiple times to ask the production to help the multitude with water. To worsen the situation, fans report that multiple "arrastaos" (groups of robbers running against people to take whatever they can as fast as possible) happened outside the stadium after the show.

Tonight's show wasn't canceled or delayed as expected, despite temperatures being higher today. Taylor Swift released a statement on Instagram but it was poorly received.

You are … wrong on both of these counts. “Compared to the west” should not be a quantifier when it comes to determining what a developed nation is. Brazil is the most developed country in South America. Trying to compare it to “the west” (Brazil is the West, btw lol) as an undeveloped nation makes u come off as uneducated or insensitive or whatever.

People die from heat related events in the US often enough for it to be an issue. Doesn’t matter if it’s at a music festival or not, but it is absolutely “something that would happen here”

Can you please show me a modern instance of a crowd like this collectively having health issues as a result of a heatwave in the USA?

Brasil is in the West with a $2.126 trillion GDP , don't they teach Geography in schools where you're from? What an incredibly uneducated thing to say

I've actually been to Brazil and have seen the poverty level first hand. A big GDP doesn't mean the country is in a good financial or political state. The worst parts of the USA are much safer than many parts of Brasil.

If Brasil is so developed as a nation, then I have to assume everyone liking these comments would agree they need to stop being sent financial aid but I doubt that.

I don’t think Brazil is classed as underdeveloped :rip: it’s a big country with many buildings and general modern values- Likewise I could say the same about the US and it’s lack of wage standardisation and health service.

For her part- Taylor did direct staff to hand out water bottles but it clearly wasn’t enough or the right action but an attempt was made initially.

I don't think Taylor did anything wrong. It's on the venue and the lack of safety protocols that caused this.

Brazil is an underdeveloped nation compared to the West. Google "Brasil slums".

2 years ago 10 people died at a travis scott concert that was held in your country, please :scoff: and the main reason was the same one: greedy big companies

    so let's fucking not

Google "crowd crush". It's not the same as people dying due to heatwave. I don't know what country you are from but in USA something like this would not happen here. Excuse this post if you are just trolling.

well, in that case, venues should be providing water for free, i'm sure they make plenty of money from the concert tickets, merch sales, etc. i think they should be able to provide a basic necessity, water, for no charge, especially if it can be life or death on hot days

in the uk you can bring a soft plastic water bottle (no cap) to the stadium and there are free water points all around the general admission area. Plus security hands out water to those at the front.

it’s very hard for me to comprehend that this is not a standard across the world.

When stuff like this happens it always shocks to me know other parts of the world are still wildly undeveloped. It's such a blessing to be in a country where this could never happen.

Also, does anyone actually have the footage or is it just a lie?

there was a rumor yesterday that taylor canceled her saturday concert because she had an intense diarrhea crisis in her hotel room caused by the heat, i think they might’ve been trolling but i wouldn't be surprised if she or her crew were actually sick after the first show, they all (including sabrina carpenter) seemed to be struggling onstage

    Can I see this footage?

Dozens killed as Israeli forces attack al-Fakhoora School in northern Gaza

Many hundreds of people are believed to have taken shelter at the UN-run school.

Israeli air raids have killed dozens people at the al-Fakhoora School, run by the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

At least 50 people were killed in the bombing, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Saturday.

Jordan condemns massacres of Al-Fakhoura, Tal Al-Zaatar schools

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the heinous and continuing war crimes committed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in Gaza, the latest one being the targeting of displaced residents at the UNRWA's Al-Fakhoura and Tal Al-Zaatar Schools, in a flagrant violation of international law and the absence of an international position to stop this raging war and the ensuing human catastrophe.

The Ministry's official spokesman, Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, affirmed the Kingdom's strong rejection and condemnation of this act, which is incompatible with all human and moral values, and with the rules of international humanitarian law, especially the Geneva Convention of 1949 for the Protection of civilians in times of War.

With 102 Workers Killed, U.N. Agency in Gaza Struggles to Provide Aid

At least 102 workers from the largest United Nations agency in Gaza have been killed in five weeks of heavy Israeli bombing. Most did not die in the line of duty but instead while at home, often in strikes that also killed members of their families, U.N. officials said.

They were men and women. The largest number were teachers. Others included school principals, warehouse workers, engineers, a software developer, a gynecologist and a man in charge of staff safety. He was killed in his home along with his wife and their eight children, said Juliette Touma, the director of communications for UNRWA, the agency that cares for Palestinian refugees and their descendants across the Middle East.

“It is a huge, huge loss,” Ms. Touma said. “Every day, we get more of these reports of our colleagues who were killed.”

It's fitting the January 6 tapes came out recently that disproved the idea of a violent Capitol insurrection, meanwhile there's the headline of the same Capitol government actively funding genocide in Gaza.

If there was ever a more grave signal for nuclear warfare, it's most definitely now.

Lana's too caught up with the "Folk/Americana/Songwriter" vibe, that's why. She wants her quick piano chords and acoustic guitar to do the heavy lifting instead of cooking up with the synths, pads, heavier guitars to wash the sound. I do miss it. I've always wanted a full on synth-y dreamy record in the vein of the original Lust For Life demo and these great cinematic soundscape, but she keeps doubling down on taking percussion out and stripping the songs away.

This reads too true. I still can't like comments.

i also don’t think come with me lays in the category, i think it’s THE honeymoon outtake melody of which was later used for new songs concept, while if i die young has no relation to honeymoon already despite being made still during hm, as i said earliest trying for the next music direction

If I Die Young, that is a LFL song or for Ultraviolence?

I love these type of songs along with the Untouchable 5 and would love to have seen some of these songs reworked and/or finalized. I find this collection of songs by Lana very mysterious and intriguing.

I think they are just as much “Lana Del Rey” as Ultraviolence or NFR are for some fans…

That's an interesting comparison to the Untouchable Five. Perhaps it could be replicated with these songs? I like this direction of the topic.

What songs could constitute as a competition to the U5? I would refer to it as "Witchy [number]".

    If I Die Young

    Come With Me

    Serene Queen

    Crazy For You

    And possibly...

    Dead To Me

    Paradise

They'd have to share both the same producer and project.

what i think is that lfl b sides was meant to happen only because how much it changed and because of constant change of concept she had to scrap those heaven like songs, so justice for more lfl leaks, i really think we are only yet to witness best unreleased songs (mind u how much of a miracle songs we have now - dragonslayer, come with me etc)

personally seated for la who am i to love you (2016) and silverlake they are giving exact those vibes:popcorn:

I forgot to mention the LFL demos.

I wonder if Max Martin produced any of these.

Honestly, it might be ironic but it's likely those songs all "sound the same". There's not much of a difference between many of them already (not a negative thing). So I'm almost wondering if it was never meant to be a seperate project. Also, does the LA song have a trap beat in it?
