kintsugi has really touched something inside my heart. not just one of my favourite Lana songs.. but one of my favourite songs ever written. I get more emotional every time I listen to it.

that's how the light gets in ladies, she's very very happy, she did it :krylie:

Grandfather would have been so much higher but I just can’t stand her voice during the chorus? Climax? The whispery airy high voice is horrible but she keeps using it. The hissing hurts my ears :rip:. Text Book is the same way. Candy Necklace too tbh but somehow it works in that song and it definitely does not sound as hissy. Anyway, it’s so hard to rank songs. Things shift every other listens :eartha:.

The ballads of this album are a serve, they sound like poetry in the best possible way, they are so classy, emotional, real, the melodies are so beautiful and I say that being a BB hater (I don't hate it but yk). Honestly I didn't expect that at all, I've only listened until "Fingertips" so far and I can't wait to listen more later

Some people were like "Oh maybe she needed to dial back on the mom shade," which tbh just sounds silly.

But I just had a thought - because they just took out the main vocal (which is why you can still hear "mother" in the underlying harmony beneath the instrumental,) there's honestly a chance that the "censoring" of the word is rather...how do I explain this.

Basically the question answers itself because Lana's saying, no, that wasn't a mother at all. Why even humor the idea that a mother would be the person Lana's mother was to her? Why call her a mother in any way?

I don't know. It's 4 A.M., I'm high. I wish we had the original, BUT for some reason, thinking of it like that... I get it?

She basically said “to me mother is a slur :sass:
