I don’t really know much about Anna Bates but her and her guitar have popped up on my instagram a few times. There was a song in particular that got stuck in my head, Rare Disease, as she sings of a guy called Danny who’s depressed and she comforts. I found it to be very wholesome and sweet, and I’m sure it’ll be soothing for many to hear. I’m listening to her music now as I’m heading to work, and it’s Americana, it’s country, and at times, her whisper-y voice and lyrics remind me of Lana, especially in her pre-fame days.
