Chocolate Eyes 548 Posted August 9, 2013 Or also called "gothic metal" by some. I really like this genre. It sounds beautiful and quite unique... the beautiful female vocals mixed with aggressive vocals. Some of the bands I have listened to: -Lunatica -Leaves Eyes -Delain -Sirenia -Within Temptation -Epica -Nightwish -Magica -Minattsol A little fun fact, Within Temptation covered "Summertime Sadness". 1 Quote 🌧️
elllipsis 1,441 Posted August 9, 2013 Ooh, I like that cover! It's not the most original one or anything, but Sharon has a great voice & the heavier instrumentation fits the song nicely. I used to be kinda into metal a few years ago, but it was mostly doom. The symphonic / gothic stuff was never really my thing, although I did like Lacuna Coil. I saw Nightwish live once and it was okay, but other than a couple of songs I could never get into their music.
Agnese13 132 Posted August 11, 2013 Well, I love Within Temptation and Nightwish. I really should try to get into more symphonic metal. I also love other Finnish bands like The Rasmus and H.I.M.
Rafael 3,513 Posted September 7, 2013 A little fun fact, Within Temptation covered "Summertime Sadness". OMG YASSS. I am here for Sharon Den Adel's voice. It's simply one of the most haunting and beautiful voices that I've ever heard (after ~sparkle jump rope qween~). "Memories", "Forgiven" and "Utopia" by Within Temptation are just I prefer their more softer tunes so I'd consider myself like a 1/2 fan
StationToStation 249 Posted September 8, 2013 Why isn't Evanescence in that list Just kidding, but they're really good and I love their album 'Fallen'. One of my best friends is also a big Within Temptation fan and got me a bit into Symphonic Metal bands
