somber 1,139 Posted 14 hours ago The last post being nearly a year ago is lowk wild to me considering how big AM are. Anyway, I thought I'd listen to their album "AM" because I haven't. It seems to be a staple in alternative music, and I like to listen to alternative music a lot, especially alternative rock. So, I'll be ranking their album while listening to it, as I did with Ethel Cain & The Weeknd's album!! My ranking and reasons;; Spoiler 1. No.1 Party Anthem (10/10) - I LOVE this song! I heard snippets of it on TikTok before, but I didn't care to listen to it. But now I'm glad I did. The highlight of the album for me, I added it 2. I Wanna Be Yours (10/10) - The lyrics of this song lowk remind me of something Lana would write, but I love the production of this song; I added it 3. Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High? (8/10) - I heard this before because of the Miley cover, but I like how they did this; I added it 4. Do I Wanna Know? (8/10) - I feel like everyone knows this song because of those Ford commercials, but I like this one too; I added it 5. Snap Out Of It (8/10) - One of the songs I didn't know before listening to the album, I quite like it, it's fun and cheeky and I like the vibe; I added it 6. Arabella (7.8/10) - A surprise for me, I didn't think I'd like this one but I do, it caught me almost right away; I added it 7. I Want It All (7.8/10) - A lowkey banger for me, need more time with it, but I like the vibe it has throughout the song; I added it 8. R U Mine? (7/10) - I understand it's one of the biggest songs off the album and their discography, but I just don't care for it at all, but I can see why it's popular 9. Fireside (6/10) - Didn't care for it either, it was nothing special to me to be honest 10. Mad Sounds (6.1/10) - I know this rating is a 0.1 more than Fireside, but I still think Fireside is better than Mad Sounds, but I like the vibe of this song, but nothing else appealed to me to make me want to keep this song 11. One For The Road (5.5/10) - I have nothing to say it's just not good 12. Knee Socks (5/10) - Overall, this album has its moments, and I see why it's an integral piece of art for the alternative genre, and alt rock genre. But for me personally, I don't see myself listening to this album frequently. Even with the songs I added, besides the first two, I don't know how many times I'll come back to those songs. If they're rotation, sure I'll listen to them. But I'm not going out of my way to listen to the album tracks. When I listen to an album, I play it over and over for the week until I listen to another album. With this album, I'm not doing it. If I were to rate this project as a whole, a 7.1/10. But I'm not fucking Pitchfork so who cares
