Okay so I've been waiting for this series to come out since last year and it's so close and I thought I'd make a thread for this in case some of ya'll wanna watch it.

CASTLE ROCK

 

Castle Rock, Hulu’s upcoming anthology series produced by J.J Abrams set in the multiverse of author Stephen King, and has been shrouded in secrecy since it was announced.

 

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock.

Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.

 

The show uses previous actors who starred in Stephen King's movies such as Bill Skarsgård (Pennywise in IT) and Sissy Spacek (Carrie White in Carrie).

 

Summary: It will tell the story of an attorney named Henry Deaver (played by Moonlight's Andre Holland) who returns home to Castle Rock to represent an inmate at Shawshank Prison with an "unusual legal problem." It will weave in references to King stories the same way King self-references in his fiction. Further seasons will tell new tales with different people, but will exist in the same interconnected universe.

While Hulu only caters to the US only, I will find a way so everyone can watch it outside of the US. I will update with a link when I find one.

I don't think there's ever been a Stephen King movie or TV adaption that was on the same level as the book it's based on, but this looks really interesting nevertheless, so I will definitely give this a try when it's out.

I heard this got Stephen King's approval. Apparently he watched it and was on the edge of his seat. I have high hopes!

its like the Twilight Zone where every episode has a different story but they all have the same general theme running through each one involving things like the future, technology, the government, etc.

It does sound smiliar to this show but I don't think it'll rely too heavily on the sci-fi futuristic side

same. im sure that the next episode will be even crazier since its the half way point. im rlly enjoying the tone and the story a lot. i wonder if henry is going to be some sort of super hero? nervous about the devil guy being released from jail... do we know if this will just be one season or will there be more?

There's no many theories about who is the devil. Lots of people are saying 'The Kid' is actually an Angel of Death who does bad things for the greater good. There's a possibility Henry is actually the devil.

 

This will be an anthology series like American Horror Story. So there's more seasons to come but they will be about something different each time

better than AHS!!! AHS always depends on blood and violence instead of horror... this is actually mysterious and spooky. i love Molly a lot, shes probably my fav character. i hadnt thought about Henry being evil. i think the kid in jail is pretty freakin evil. everyone he's touched has died or done something eeeeviiillllll. im excited to see how this story wraps up.
