no i genuinely get it like that song did not need to be shared like especially with how apparent she is abt things like that and just the lyrics being so unreal
but SOME people love to call everything "lost media" and "important preservation"
but to be fair i doubt it'll spread past the small group of people who heard it similar to almost all these leaks

why would she share a song if she didn't want it to ever come out/be leaked? i somewhat understand if it was before she was famous or didn't have many fans at all yet, but when you share stuff with your fans, or post it online, you really can't be too surprised when/if it leaks one day

 

either way, it seems like nobody knows how she feels regarding that particular song, so i don't think anyone should just automatically assume, nothing happened when he hits me because he loves me by lana leaked and that song is... pretty dark

shes allowed to have feelings and hate a past song ? like its some insane trolling song and thats so different from what she releases and her artistry. like ofc its already out there and it is what it is but shes allowed to say she doesn’t like things like this ?

you are correct about that, she absolutely has the right to feel uncomfortable with her past work, and although we have our own feelings on leaked songs, and the morality sorrunding it, we often should take the artist's feelings into consideration, but at the end of the day, once a song's out there, people are going to want to listen to it, and there's not much that can be done

 

honestly i probably shouldn't have said anything, i'm not really familiar with ethel cain's work, but i do find her interesting, i apologize if my previous post was insensitive

If media is lost, it's lost media. And it IS preservation. Even if you don't like it.

 

That said, anyone who listens to Lana's leaks is in no position to judge.

well, i did listen to preacher's daughter once, and i only really liked a few songs off of it, but i've been meaning to listen to perverts since i've been getting more into "weird" and experimental music, so it sounded like something i might like, i just haven't gotten around to it yet  sometimes i put off listening to new stuff because i'm afraid i won't like it which i know is silly

I don't feel like it's immoral to listen to leaked music, any leaked music, and that applies across artists. Also, if you're an artist and distribute music either to the public or some group chat or your friends and it leaks or gets reposted after deleting, it's on you completely. Nobody else.

that is fair, i think what cautions it is definitely her approach to fame bc it is way different in the current age of the internet compared to lanas approach to fame
but like she is FAMOUS its just so different now to be famous
