genghis khan Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 I don't have a problem with how people interpert lana songs, even if they're harmful towards themselves. Everyone has their time to explore their darkness. But I agree with @Pr3ttyP4rtyFav0r that fans creating their own mythology of lanas life and treating it as a fact is soooo annoying and idiotic 5 Quote
Dark Angel Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 i honestly think she was just trying to tell a story with carmen that really wasn’t about herself, i mean, if you listen to the acapella demo which is our earliest recording of the track we have, it especially comes off that way 3 Quote
Ultra Violet Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Ive literally seen someone in the coquette community say "Lana Del Rey died after Ultraviolence", to which i responded with "no she retired after Honeymoon", which i know is also problematic, to joke about her work not existing after my preferred eras. But resorting to imagine Lana died? Like that is the only way you can cope with her no longer being perfect for your aesthetic? Even as a joke, it shows whats going on in peoples minds. 4 Quote

The comments suggested otherwise, like saying it was suicide, so idk. Mayne the OP meant the character but others took it wrong, including me? 2 Quote

genghis khan Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Also I think it's silly to condemn fans for enjoying "coquette, lolita, girlblogger etc" aesthetic as if it isn't precisely that which lana intentionally made 0 Quote
