Atom Heart Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Quality > quantity tbh I don't foresee any random bonus tracks or special editions so with TFJ we had 15 songs, EH we had 17 and with FROOT we have 12. When there was a lot it seemed bloated and destined to have one or a couple lackluster tracks (Girls, The Outsider, Guilty, Rootless, Lies, Sex Yeah, Living Dead ) Okay, so you named some of her best tracks to date. I see how it is Andrew. 1 Quote
iseeyouupsidedown Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 What I will say is that while the lyrics this time around are some of her best, the melodies and instrumentals aren't my favorites. The melody for Obsessions was so beautiful and original. I do really like the chorus of Immortal though and the bridge. 0 Quote
iseeyouupsidedown Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Just listened to Miss Y again... It's actually one of the most honest and personal songs she's done tbh. It's unlike any other song I've heard lyrically. It's actually a really sad reflection on her career, she's so great, I hope she see that now 2 Quote
Hellish Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Upon the first listen I wasn't really sure if I liked Immortal or not. I know that it will likely grow on me, but for now I don't really feel the need to listen to it more than a few times. For me, songs like that don't normally hit home with me until I can listen to the album in full. 1 Quote

Anthem Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I completely flipped my shit when Immortal came out but now I've settled and can see its imperfections. I like listening to it because its new, but it definitely won't stay as fresh as Froot did. And yes, I can see some valid complaints with the lyrics being a bit cliche and repetitive. 0 Quote Goddesses don't speak in whispers. They scream.
HEARTCORE Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Immortal > Froot & Happy for me. Froot was definitely a lot fresher than all three, but I really love the meaning of Immortal. 1 Quote
BENTLEY Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Froot > Immortal > Happy I love them all in different ways. 1 Quote
Hundred Dollar Bill Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Happy really speaks to me. If I let myself get fully into the song it can make me cry. Happy > FROOT > Immortal FROOT is such a jam (pun was not initially intended but I noticed it and fukc yea totally intentional now). I love all the songs so far! 0 Quote
iseeyouupsidedown Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Happy > Froot = Immortal Happy just REALLY speaks to me and inspires me. Immortal has deep meaning to it but it is a bit repetitive and I wish the instrumental was a little more interesting to make up for the lyrics not being AS good as Happy. 0 Quote
