However, I wouldn't call the production awful on the 1989 vaults... that spot is reserved for Fearless TV (the vaults on that TV sound like Folkmore outtakes with the exception of Mr. Perfectly Fine) but they definitely don't sound like 1989 songs... sorta (Say Don't Go is almost there it just needs heavier drum and some extra synths and pads).

I think Jack produced 9 songs on that record but I'm not sure, however he did produce Getaway Car so I have faith .

I mean I think in general Taylor’s versions sound much worse in terms of production. I know a lot of people hate her younger voice but I love her vocals during fearless/speak now… that was peak IMO.

 

the thing that irked me about 1989 vault tracks is just how far off they were in terms of sound… they sounded NOTHING like 1989. And especially when you compare them to 1989 deluxe tracks it’s like day and night.

 

The only vault tracks that I actually love from start to finish are from Red. They are insanely good, all of them

I think her voice is better now imo but I do have to agree about the production on the tvs... it not as good.

For me it was the Speak Now vaults, yes they don't sound 100 percent accurate but they sure as hell sound alot more like something you would find on the main album compared to 1989... for the most part (looking at you castles crumbling, found a rock version tho so my problems are solved).

Edit: I wonder since we're pretty much not getting any Taylor's Versions this year if we're gonna get an eras tour film / documentary or something like that with the TTPD performances + maybe mirrorball, invisible string, tis the damn season, etc.

Wait... what if? Taylor did get ownership of her original masters in 2019? do you think she'd still release the vault stuff (perhaps through anniversary edition's)? do you think she'd still do the eras tour? stuff like that.
