I also crave COCC but we should be more grateful. We're being fed. Album not even a year ago, another album soon™, one poetry book + audiobook, and another coming next year. And everything was extremely good so far imho (you may disagree but at least you must admit she didn't release sub-par projects). And all this during the current state of events.
not many artists release all this material this often, especially not when they're taking the lead in songwriting and are so involved in the creative process
all the same, she kept reinventing herself and pushing her sound in new directions each era and now she's starting with slam/beat poetry too
-
the album is probably done by now but she won't release it or talk more about it until she's starting to get somewhere with the following record hahah jk but I could see that

Not only that but she must have plenty of songs under her belt so I wouldn't be surprised if she decided to go with two albums (one full - COCC, and an EP - WHF)
She could definitely do it but we have no reason to expect all of this from her

oh yeah it's probably old-ish but I don't think it was ever meant for UV
-
3 minutes ago, VioletBunny said:I wonder if that’s what happened with UV and they encouraged her to collab with a popular artist and she obviously chose the weeknd for MPG but chose to leave him off it but gave in for LFL title track
i thought MPG was just a remix he did later on his own

the old version (at least on mobile) would edit my previous post if it was the last one on that thread at that point and I tried to post again
while now it doesn't do that automatically anymore and out of habit, sometimes I post twice in a row

I hope you literally wrote COCC with no context

I feel you but I don't think it's pathetic. it's nice to feel excitement for something haha it would be depressing if not even my favorite artist made me feel something... her music has helped me so much through difficult times and as a soundtrack to happy memories too
I associate parts of my life to her eras, so I feel a special connection to her
and waiting for a new album is almost like anticipating a new chapter of my life, you know what I mean? it's like I kinda grow up with her
lmao I should be studying for my exams and I'm here writing bullshit while on Ritalin
I guess you were a bit right then

ETA: Tired to find some lyrics to make fun of, but the song is pretty repetitive. something something she's going to update it to "Say yes to Topanga, it's hot tonight"
"Say yes to heaven,
I'm taking off my bathing suit"BTW didn't she rework it before NFR? I remember she mentioned another version or something during an LFL era interview when she was asked about Architecture lmao

1 hour ago, ChaoticLipster said:Ben her managers, said ‘new music coming soon’ usually his ‘soon’ isn’t 9 months later. More like a few weeks a month at most.
but I was wondering if he meant the whole album (not as a single beforehand), since music is pretty vague

do y'all even feel like TJF will be a single? (if she's dropping singles at all)
just because she posted a snippet it doesn't mean it will be released soon
we only got to hear HIAB when the album was out although it was the first song she teased.. A year before (maybe more? idk)
-
5 hours ago, CinnamonGirl said:i know she said this will be a continuation of NFR but i hope she lied bc i love lana's natural progression with every album being completely unique and different from the last
if she says it sounds like something, then for a fact we know it's not true
she said that a long while ago, very early in the process, so it's not a surprise when at that point she was still working on NFR / just being done with
also her early demos are usually in a different style cuz she always switches it up at least once (HM demos and LFL demos say hi) and one year is a long time for her
she also said that she had a creative block before meeting Jack and that the first songs they made were little more than sudden inspiration while Jack was playing stuff for her
so NFR is probably more dependent on Jack's input
but then she more recently said that she started being very inspired again, as the 2 poetry books attest (I dare to say that we're back at a BTD creative peak, although I'm not saying she's going back to that style!)

then when we finally get the album, it's just an iPhone voice memo of her saying the date in which she'll start the countdown for the final release

Anyway on topic, I feel like i got myself too hyped up. I woke up today with a feeling that nada was gonna happen, and here we are. Im still SO excited for it, but will be laying off the "manifestation" haha. I get so excited, and im enough of my own disappointment to take more haha. Also this site looks great now. Dear God it made a sound again! Anyway track #8 will be the best on the album, not manifesting just stating facts.
this forum is the best part of the album "rollout" tho.
also that sound is addictive haha
better than Grindr's

she's just a glamorous person that always looks glam when she goes out and she's never seen with pin curls in her hair, or else her babies on the tour lyf would like.. die

this is such an interesting perspective because, while I see how awful for her it can be to have random strangers listening to potentially private material she ultimately didn't feel like sharing for whatever reason, I don't think I'd be such a huge fan nowadays if I hadn't heard some of her unreleased catalog
it's bittersweet
although I believe there's a difference between listening to songs that didn't make the cut but are or at least were acknowledged (or even published / performed by her at some point) and songs / drafts she probably never intended to be public (like laptop demos back in the days)
