    it’s also worth noting that the majority of his albums are recorded live; Pure Comedy was actually recorded live entirely, you don’t always have to be pitch perfect to bring emotion out of people. we should know that, we’re lana fans 😭😭

    i’ll gladly take music videos this era but also i’m sooo content not getting any either. it’s actually nice just imagining your own visuals for the song that represent what it means to you. an era’s photoshoots and stuff set the mood like, this is the world that we’re in, but without music videos, you as a listener actually have that whole world to run around in and make your own, i think it’s cool.

     

    i actually kinda hate when artists release music videos long after the song because by that point i already have my own strong imaginative visual landscape of what the music is, and if something completely different from what i was picturing comes out it can kinda change my perception. and not necessarily always in a good way

    i kinda feel like kim is the perfect example of how damaging it is that so many artists in the streaming era release so many “projects” before their debut album 🧍 if this were her fourth or fifth album (which it very well could’ve been), then honestly who really cares that much if it’s not great. but this is her proper debut, there’s a lot riding on it, and her best work/possibly her best creative years were spent on releasing stand-alone singles

    EYEYE has not only grown to be my favorite Lykke album (which is already impressive considering how much I Never Learn means to me), but also one of my favorite albums ever; it sets such a vibe. it can be easy listening if you want it to be, or you can lie down and turn off the lights and close your eyes and immerse yourself in the full experience that it is. i need the second part of this album so bad 😭😭

    it’s absolutely impossible to gatekeep lana but honestly i side eye fans who got into her post-NFR because she has been everywhere for a while and i can’t believe it has taken people so long to appreciate her artistry 😭 especially people who “discovered” her through tiktok. but at the end of the day as long as people aren’t weird it’s fine

    I love this album (besides Sunset :rip:), I loveeee Pang too but in my opinion all of the songs on Desire compliment each other better than the songs do on Pang. Although I have a feeling this will be one of those albums that you have to listen to top to bottom to fully appreciate, while with Pang you can listen to most of the songs by themselves and they still hit as hard as they do in full context. I do think I like this better as a complete body of work though
