My best friend wrote this to someone and it’s just….100% true so I’m sharing it.
“While I am reserved when voicing my opinions in
general, I am only saying this now because I have never been so pissed off in my entire life. The fact that Harris didn't even win the popular vote when Democrats typically do, even Hillary Clinton, even when Republicans win the electoral college, just confirms my fear of these brain-rot no-vote protestors following through during what was the most important election of our lives, far more important than 2020 because after losing Trump is going to be in a massive narc rage and out for revenge.
I hate to be the person to throw in a TV quote, but with this situation all I keep thinking of the Succession line "You bust in here, guns in hand, and now you've seen they've turned to fucking sausages." - All of that time playing knights and politicians online accomplished nothing but lining the pockets of billionaires by building engagement on their social media sites. All of that protesting and screeching "Free Palestine" only to sign Palestine's death warrant by handing Trump the presidency, because he will flatten that country just like he promised. He has no sense or interest in the politics of it. It has nothing to do with even Isreal to him. He will nuke them just to make liberal college kids cry, especially in his narc rage. We don't even have Pence, who at least had some political sensibility and duty, to hold him back. He's got a showman at his side, who is likely more dangerous than Trump.
Palestine is over. Ukraine is over. All of those decades of progress we made here are over. If they can strip reproductive rights just two years ago with an election on the horizon and face 0 consequences, they will take away everything else. They've got at least four years to work and fill seats. Gay rights, single party divorce, interracial marriage - all of it on the chopping block, and codifying things doesn't mean shit to these people. Rules mean nothing to them because they will find a way around it for no other reason other than because they can. There are no limits. With the ever-growing rhetoric, the gay community, especially trans people, is in so much fucking danger. We're all in so much danger. That's not even considering the fact they want to dismantle the education department on top of a bunch of other shit.
And for what? Nothing more than an arrogant, short-sighted moral superiority circle jerk to feel rebellious and superior, when in fact they've just fucked not only themselves over, but the people they supposedly cared so much about, as well the rest of the country and quite possibly the rest of the world if Russia decides to sink it's teeth into Poland next and trigger a NATO reaction, and with Trump in power, we will be on Russia's side. Biden wasn't great and Harris wasn't ideal either, but to think that they are remotely on the same level as the alternative is absolutely and completely asinine. That magical unicorn of a candidate is not going to materialize out of thin air - we are not going to have third-party options without years of hard work and determination. That is not reality. That is not how the world works. You take what you can and make due and keep your eyes on the future. Believing you can just demand something into existence is delusional, and throwing a tantrum only helps Republicans.
So, no. I don't want to hear about coming together to fight fascism, because that chance already happened and people chose not to because they are too fucking arrogant and stupid to see anything beyond their surprisingly limited perspective. Fascism was knocking at our door, and they let them in.
This isn't arguing to some account online - this is the real world with real consequences and real people who want to do damage. This juvenile sense of Le Revolution is never going to happen, especially from the people who are constantly screeching about it, because they do not have the stamina and foresight to make happen when they can't even get their shit together for ONE ELECTION without making it about themselves.
It is done. It is over, and once again everyone else will have to work harder and faster to clean up selfish, stupid people's messes. Although I am pissed at Conservatives, my true anger is with the brain-rot protestors. Conservatives were always going to do what they were going to do. We knew that, and all we had to do was show and stop it. But apparently, that is too much for some people. Ironically, the only thing they likely accomplished was ending the Israel/Palestine conflict by giving Trump the opportunity to disintegrate Palestine.

I don’t think he legit does. My husband supports everything Trump is against so idk. it is and way to try and ruin my future. Like who hates me enough it’s actually terrifying. I’m glad the cop was nice about it. Im still anxious and I wasn’t even home when they came.
