  1. There's so much packed in this record that it would be a travesty to overlook it all. 1st and foremost to me is the apparent message that can be conveyed. I feel like it speaks to the current political climate in america. With everything that has gone on these past few months.

    The lyrics:

Look at you kids, you know you're the coolest

The world is yours and you can't refuse it

Seen so much, you could get the blues

But that don't mean that you should abuse it

    [Pre-Chorus]

Though it's enough just to make you go crazy, crazy, crazy

I know, it's enough just to make you go crazy, crazy, crazy.

And to mention the last few lines of the 1st verse:

You're part of the past, but now you're the future

    Signals crossing can get confusing.

Another thing i'd like to point out is the "Don't Worry Baby" song lyric and brief melody usage which references the Beach Boys' 1964 record of the same name. Also If you listen back to both Love and Don't Worry Baby you can definitely pick up on a feel and hints of the Beach Boys' record throughout Love. The soundscape of music give mes the feeling of spacious, majestic, outside space with floating satellites. Which is why the poster and Lana's reference is well placed. There's a lot going on with this record as always with any of her music.

pls lana give me any cover from the beach boys im begging you bb

  2. electronic South African and Californian duo. been listening to them for about a year now. does anybody else know of them????? their work is pretty gorgeous :aw:

i didn't know them! nice duo, loved their songs

i'm going to download rn  :D

  3. love her songs

also i wanted to say that 'hurricane' video doesn't fit the song (in my opinion of course)......  though it's a pretty nice video

  4. It definitely had a massive impact, as it was the first time we got to witness the massive diversion from the BTD sound, which many people were not expecting or ready for. It was shocking and different sonically, even if it wasn't so popular on the charts

'wc' had a massive impact in my fucking heart i can't believe it doesn't have even a grammy nom

  5. None of the box sets were particularly expensive (you don't want to know how much the Blue Neighbourhood box set was), and considering how much they include, the Paradise and Ultraviolence box sets were definitely worth their price. The Paradise box set has only become quite expensive since it's not available on her website any more.

how much 'the nbhd box set' was?????? im curious now

  6. I don't have a problem with HM. I just wish there were more instruments in certain songs to bring it "to life". Like 24 could've used something to made the buildup in the bridge more dramatic and powerful but it sounds like it's holding back. Then again the simplicity and delicacy of HM is also what makes it so interesting and enjoyable.

    EXACTLYYYYY

i have a problem with that bridge, and i think there's a demo which can show us all the drama and ~stuff

  7. i guess what i mean is BTD is the "final hour" of life, the rush, the death- i know Paradise is interpreted as heaven but to me it's purgatory (ie. themes of hell/heaven, sin/innocence) or travelling through the afterlife. the fork in the road. UV is the left path, down to hell and all its desire, blaring with guitars and drums and fire. HM is the right path, up to heaven, up to a consistent dream, and reflection upon your sins and being forgiven. i hope LDR5 perhaps continues this by being the Rebirth of LDR ("solve et coagula", Young and in Love, descriptions of being in the same vein as HM but more "radio-friendly"- maybe Lana taking her lessons from BTD->HM into her new life and redoing it all over how she should have done it?)

    i'm just rambling now :toofunny:

i love you??????? yes i do
