I also think she is dishonest artistically in that she will do whatever she thinks will receive the most critical acclaim (her jazz era, her TV acting stint, her stripped down "authentic" Joanne era) and declares that to have been her authentic self all along.

Bounce was doomed to flop. It doesn't have the catchiness of any of the songs on the Vroom Vroom EP. While I don't think Atlantic was right to scrap the entire album, Charli shot herself in the foot with that performance choice. She could've performed, like, any other of the drafted XCX3 songs and it would've been received better.

Wasn't this rumor started by some crazy PCboards/LB/Twitter user? I feel like it shut down the Charli thread for a hot minute.

What I interpret it as, is that if you struggle a lot in life, especially mentally, finding the right person to be your rock feels like your problems go away. Considering Allie's running themes of mental health in her music, this could very well be what she meant. But even if she didn't, the song means a lot to me just because of how much it hits close to personal experiences of mine.
