I think she is a feminist, she doesn't like to admit it because of the negativity (wrongly) associated with feminism. she definitely wants women to have better rights, but I just don't think she understands how to put those views across

at the beginning, I keep thinking she's gonna sing 'he don't like no small things' from BLM for some reason

the only line I don't like is 'he used to call me DN' bc I think it sounds really dumb like cmon Lana clearly he did not call you DN he fucking called you Lizzy or Lana

i like the chorus because she sings 'I can hear sirens sirens', but then 'I can hear violins violins'. it kinda matches the 'he hit me and felt like a kiss'; sirens symbolise danger and violence, whilst violins suggest romance. she hears the warning signs about how wrong he is, but her mind romanticises the violence and turns it into something affectionate. it's so fucking dark, I'm starting to understand why she called this record 'unlistenable'.

WC was a perfect bridge between the BtD era and the UV era. SoC was amazing for showing off Lana's vocal capabilities. UV was fantastic for showing how twisted her lyricism can be and introduced the themes of UV.

i love how cohesive this album has been, the single & album covers have followed a similar style and the music is so well connected

Maida Vale sessions are kind of like the Radio 1 Live Lounge sessions, but I *think* they're less stripped-back. All I know is that Sky Ferreira did one once and it was really great.
