I'm someone who reasonably liked the album but I think the criticisms of it are completely justified. if you're going to put a piece of work out into the world, you have got to be prepared for people to not like it with valid criticisms. Love + Fear is good but like Witness it suffers from the phoniness of the pre-release stuff. She should've billed it as her carefree, happy album instead of claiming the 'psychological pop' route.

Completely agree. Please Don’t Call Me & Emotional Machine feel very authentically Marina, so it figures that those were the ones from earlier on. She has lost her identity with this record.

You got your facts wrong. There is no song that samples Janet. There are songs inspired by her, but no pre-Nashville tracks actually interpolates or samples Janet in any way
