  1. Shania Twain cited Lana as an inspiration   :oprah:  :oprah:  :oprah:

When asked who her recent musical inspirations have been lately, she was eager to name a few famous faces that have influenced her.

"This is last year, but I'm really stuck on Lana Del Rey. I've been listening to that one a lot more and kind of stuck on the sound of that record," she said.

  2. I didn't realize how awful those nominations for best female video are until now. We Can't Stop is horribly made but it actually might be the best of them just because it actually tries to be something. The others are all so bland. Not even Demi herself must consider Heart Attack a good video.

Blurred Lines will probably win everything and millions of blogs will make articles about how that proves the misogynistic nature of the music industry wah wah whatever I'm just watching it for Gaga's performance.

  3. I've gone off him lately since I've been getting more into pop music but I really need to listen to all his albums again. Wind in the Wires is probably my favorite along with Lupercalia. The later is sort of an unpopular opinion I guess but the sequence of Time of my Life/The Days/Slow Motion kills me.

Favorite song changes a lot but I love Tristan.

  4. The fact that some people are agreeing with that quote about Lana singing about the Hamptons and Buggati Veyron annoys me because it really misses the whole point of "National Anthem". She isn't singing about how much she loves the Hamptons and driving expensive cars. She's clearly playing a character of a girl who's using a rich guy to get her fame and money. And those mentions are just additions to the history.

I mean, "Money is the reason we exist/Everybody knows it /It's a fact/Kiss kiss". Those lyrics are obviously tongue-in-cheek.

  5. Maybe I'm just having a slow day, but... what does that mean? And what does the "BHC" above Mandler's name stand for?

    Behind the scenes?

    it says "BTS"?

ugh i was hoping that was just related/not in tropico/a fan posing. like...the misspelled words? why? kinda worried about how this whole thing will turn out. not a big fan of ^that or the elvis/MM impersonations, really wish lana would represent her thoughts more symbolically or s/t

  6. Maybe she had some indoor shooting we didn't know about.

I think it was Shaund Ross who said something like "After two days of filming..." on his Instagram or something like that

Anyway I don't think just because the filming didn't last long it means the video will simple or mundane. In the Ride video there are a lot of locations and different scenes but she has basically the same hair and make-up throughout the whole video and most scenes are short so I don't think that took a long time to film either.
