  1. we should start a kickstarter to cover sophie's production fees ?!

basically a preorder. set a goal at like $40k for an exchange ep. everyone who donates $10 gets a digital copy. $30 for some limited hot pink vinyl. $40k sounds like a lot and we'd be lucky to reach $20k but the vroom vroom vinyl was limited to 1,000 copies and now sells for $100+ at resale. an exchange vinyl with 1,000 copies x $30 = $30,000. the group of people who care about the exchange songs may be small but we would ALL break a heel trying to get a vinyl.

obviously we wouldn't be paying sophie directly, it'd just be a way to demonstrate quantitative interest and guaranteed sales. if charli released it low key through vroom vroom recordings it couldn't be that difficult to coordinate with her/her team. and if it doesn't work for one reason or another..... everyone gets refunded and nothing's changed

money talks louder than twitter stans .....

where is the 800 like tweet about taxi?

MCCREADY: You just recently worked with Charli XCX on Pop 2, how did you guys meet?

PETRAS: Yes! So we met at this amazing show, that I will never forget. It was SOPHIE’s first live show and I’m a big SOPHIE fan. So Charli XCX was there, we just kind of briefly said hi because friends of friends knew each other, and watched the show and were just like, “Oh my God, this is one of the best shows we’ve ever seen.” Then we partied. And the next say she just shot me a text and was like, “Hey, you want to jump on this song?” I was like, “Oh my God, what the fuck?!” It was just super cool. She’s like the sweetest, coolest girl and I’ve been such a big fan of her, for a while. The next day, I wrote the verse and we sent it to Charli and she was like, “I love it,” and that was done. It was super quick and I can’t wait to get in the studio with her and collaborate in person. But yeah, that was awesome and I love how the song came out.

  3. As much as I appreciate the mixtapes and leaks they just don't quench my thirst for XCX3 ):... like we've said it would've been a GOLDEN era, I feel like everything else isn't going to fill that void until we get something close to her bikini top & tennis skirt, pink and blue lighting party girl album ): sad, I feel like taxi, tko, no angel, round and round etc all slap so hard nothing else can compare unless she does something like vroom vroom: the next mile

Legit how I feel too. Word for word. Such a perfect look for such perfect songs

  4. I know what you mean... but IMO, they're kinda just "to the point" songs with really excellent, unique production that is interesting enough to carry the song through to the end. It's not "formulaic" in the top 40 mainstream pop sense, but if anything, IMO, that's a good thing. They're not any less catchy...

Round and Round definitely has some odd drops and its own bridge... it's kinda similar to the rest of the song, but drops back and builds up in a different sort of "dynamic" and Charli adds to it with that falsetto... :flutter: :flutter: No Angel is pretty much a one-level track all the way through but it has a subtle build to it but it just has that infectious sound and beat that doesn't get old.

I mean, really in a lot of Charli's songs, she's carrying the song and defining the structure... A few of her songs have this really kinda progressive structure and production, but really, it's her melodies and vocals shifting around that really make most of her songs interesting. A lot of her production is really solid and tonally fantastic, but it can actually be pretty repetitive. Not that that's bad, it's just that Charli is so good, that she makes it hard to notice a lot of times. These songs are no different in that regard, to me. She just comes in and kills it...  I don't think they necessarily need anything else, personally.

god damn i feel this review. so true. though production not too repetitive....thats just how a pop song is in general.  but her vocals. she carries the song. example out of my head. when her verse comes in it just lifts the songs up and you just listen to it more. someone hates tove lo here but i fucking love her. great songwriter. but yeah charlis singing and her catchy melodies are kind of the best pop songs ive ever heard
