  1. I love the bass line and Lana's voice sounds great.  California Dreamin' in the background just fits right in.  I am really impressed with what you have done here - shocked actually that there is yet more goodness to be found in Summertime Sadness. :)

Wow, and thank you for your great comment. Lets me know that you really do appreciate the remix. Which means a lot to me. & Im shocked & excited myself with what i was able to do. The lyrical content in both records are literally in sync. Once again thank you

  2. Omg great mix. I love the original Mamas and Papas song, such a classic!

Thank you, thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. & Wow, im surprised you caught the sample lol. You've good music sense

Omg this is like the first remix I actually like. I want the full version now  :defeated:

And its coming soon. Mostly like May. & Glad you enjoyed what you heard so far

  3. I really avoid making double posts about anything i release on the boards, because of the fact that i want to abide by the rules. As well as that theres no need to. However, this time around i had to make an exception. And the reason for that exception comes from me being proud of the work i was able to do on Lana's record Summertime Sadness. Capturing the record in a time that the song would've been perfect for. All the while maintaining the beautiful essence of her etheral & melodically angelic vocal work, & the soul of the record itself. Can't wait to release the full version soon.

  4. Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness [urban Noize Remix]

From the moment i heard Lana's beautiful hypnotic & euphoric vocals apart from the original music, the inspiration & vision for the remix instantly hit me. And just like that it came together. The sound of it is beautiful, vintage psychedelic pop. A genre that her voice is well at home with. Looking forward to releasing this soon.

  6. NEW MUSIC: Lana Del Rey feat. Jay Z - Born To Die [urban Noize Remix]

Our remix to Lana's record Born To Die serves as a bonus cut from our recently released Lana Del Rey & Jay Z remix EP American Beauty. And on the remix, we see the story arc of Lana’s original record expounded up on with deep, retrospective confessional verses from Jay Z.

  7. After reading your entire post, i was about to say you had a very stronger argument LOL. Almost convinced me for a second. Thats is, until that troll face appeared lol. But who knows, Bey probably was inspired by her lol. You're probably right. Good analysis. And i really like the Beyonce album

    PARTITION
In "Partition", the camera takes us inside a palatial estate that almost looks like it could have been the setting for the "Born to Die" video. See the exterior and interior below:
    hv0lgvQm.jpgHF6FZI1m.jpg

In the first of several scenes curiously similar to ones out of "National Anthem", we find Mrs. Carter seated at an immaculately set table, barely noticed by her rapper husband peering over his newspaper:
    SywlklDm.jpgBrUhf8cm.jpg

In her mind, she embarks on a sexual fantasy. Again she channels Rosalita:
    gVyL9nTm.jpgqeLPYoim.jpg

Her rapper husband feels up her leg in a vehicle:
    ihboxglm.jpgVVOv5imm.jpg

She puts on a show for him, donning a sequined flapper headdress like Lizzy wears in this photo:
    5dgoPZ9m.jpg8LPxAxEm.jpg

Silhouette techniques like something out of "Summertime Sadness" are employed:
    NLvI0Fgm.jpgKH4DV8Em.jpg

Beyoncé pole dances like Lana in Tropico over a sexy French spoken interlude like in "Carmen":
    Ons0Msxm.jpgHTrT6WDm.jpg

Like A$AP Rocky in "National Anthem", her rapper husband watches her performance voyeuristically, smoking a cigar:
    Lu4Lmpmm.jpgqRnGqo8m.jpg

    JEALOUS
Beyoncé is a jealous, jealous, jealous gurrrrrl. This video begins in the same estate reminiscent of "Born to Die" as in "Partition". In one scene, the former Miss Knowles is draped over a pinball machine like Lana in "Ride":
    GPQn22dm.jpgQH7jBF6m.jpg

In another we see a "tunnel lined with yellow lights":
    isKubZ9m.jpgqeTATLbm.jpg

    ROCKET
Like "Blue Jeans", "Rocket" opens on a black & white close-up of a reflection of the artist's face in a ripple of water:
    R8Q6UGLm.jpgl7W0Kxlm.jpg

Later in each video we watch the artist submerge her face in water in slow motion:

    MINE
Like Lana in the poster for Tropico, we find Beyoncé re-enacting Mary in the Pieta:
    rWgrJ6Cm.jpg0FBB7l4.jpg

Also, is that another Shaun Ross cameo? :creep:

    XO
In "XO", Beyoncé orchestrates perhaps the largest NYC land grab since Dutch settlers bought Manhattan Island from Native Americans for 24 bucks, stealing the famed amusement destination from the Queen of Coney Island herself:

    ***FLAWLESS & SUPERPOWER
Since I can't find any Lana plagiarism in either of these videos, I'm just gonna go ahead and assume they must be borrowed from the "Dark Paradise" and "Cola" videos that never materialized. @@Ultraviolence Watch these. One of them may be the closest thing you'll ever get to your precious "Cola" video.

    HEAVEN
Here we have the biggest plot heist since Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds ripped off Gremlins. In "Heaven", Beyoncé portrays a woman mourning her deceased female bff in a series of flashbacks. Sound familiar? Of course it does. It's the plot of Lana's "Summertime Sadness" video. Not content to copycat one Lana video, "Heaven" filches from a few. A shot in a church mirrors the chapel in "Born to Die":
    RccTfUAm.jpgXgNax8Sm.jpg

In a flashback, Beyoncé's girlfriend sprays alcohol at a campfire party echoing scenes in "Ride":
    c6VeqiXm.jpgS0SwpmEm.jpg

And we see her and her gal pal riding in a car like Lana & Jaime King:
    rWM3CYpm.jpghc8S535m.jpg

She only barely tries to disguise her copying Lana's recitation of the Lord's Prayer in Tropico by saying it in Spanish. Oh, and speaking of Spanish, here's Rosalita yet again:
    8FFm9Jgm.jpg

    BLUE
Sure, there's another "tunnel lined with yellow lights":
    j4qGVkEm.jpg

    The sequined bra is back:
    kRXAHTdm.jpg

And she evokes Lizzy's showgirl style:
    FZgcsTrm.jpgTngmCyQt.jpg

But most saliently, this song is about Beyoncé's, uh, baby Blue love, the black baby daughter she had with a rapper. What a blatant "National Anthem" ripoff!
    7QkLUN1m.jpgjdtik2hm.jpg

    GROWN WOMAN
Last but not least, the video for "Grown Woman" consists of home footage of Beyoncé's childhood performances, a clear homage to Lana's DIY videos.

  8. Just came across this video, and its very dope. The dancers on it killed their routine to our Lana Del Rey & Jay Z Hundred Dollar Bill remix. The record can be found on our recently released Lana Del Rey and Jay Z remix EP titled American Beauty.

  9. @@Ultraviolence's analysis on TROPICO was pretty much accurate and spot on. Couldn't have said it better. & As far as my view on it, i can see and understand how she decided to use some of her favorite icons John Wayne, Elvis, Jesus, and Marlin Monroe as kind of like the God like inspiration that influence and effect her life. & Tying that into the biblical themes she grew up with, with her being raised catholic at some point. Like she really incorporated parts of her life and beliefs into this symbolic piece of art. While still communicating the themes of lost innocence, love, and redemption. & I feel like Anthony Mandler did a good job with her vision. Although, as someone pointed out, i could only imagine what Woodkid wouldve been able to do.

  10. I see it like this:

The Garden of Eden = Paradise = L.A. (the way she expected it to be)

Lana said that The Garden of Eden turned into the Garden of Evil, which is the Land of Gods and Monsters, which is L.A.

Remember the line in "Radio" where she sings: "Now I'm in LA and it's Paradise"

I think the Garden of Eden represents the way Lana imagined it Hollywood/LA to be with Marilyn, Elvis, etc. all being part of it.

She looses her innocent and childish view of it as soon as she's confronted with the truth, she basically took a bite of the truth. Her eyes were opened.

Very well said. You hit it right on the head

  11. Definitely gonna rewatch it when I have the time to, but rn I really agree with what @@TrailerParkDarling said. She shouldn't have worked with Mandler; maybe Woodkid would've been a better choice. BJ and BTD were iconic videos in my opinion and perhaps Woodkid could've made the video more subtle? Like in Tropico the symbolism and the general storyline was v obvious. If it was Woodkid-directed then maybe there would've been more space to interpret what the video meant. But then of course Lana did say she worked really well with Mandler so ~idk~  :pft:

Woodkid i could definitely see redoing Tropico. & Visually it wouldve definitely been heavier in terms of how he decided to execute the symbolism.

  12. The Bel Air scene couldnt have been more perfect. From the shots in the field, to the great and wonderful lightening. Theres just something about it that elevates the record. Plus Lana looked amazing. She mind as well have been an angel. & The Garden of Eden scene as well was great. From the colors and shots, to how John Wayne, Marliyn Monroe, and Jesus was captured. There was this very dope approach taken with them that i havent seen before. & The way everything just plays out was perfect too. & You get so caught up in the music and her dancing, that you forget that she's about to do something forbidden by eating the fruit.

  13.

I hope they release a new version of Body Electric in this EP.

About the song, I think it might be just a intrumental song or the filme itself.... but who knows maybe Lana is good to us all and decided to release a new song.

And I am the only one who thinks that Bradley would be perfect for the role? Not just because he has the "gangster look" more than Shaun but it would give the story that started in Born To Die/Blue Jeans a properly end.

Agreed. He would've brought the perfect edge
