  1. Still betting that it has something to do with God and San Francisco my OG guess: God, Please Sail Over the Sea on Monday for When He Docks at San Francisco
  2. I'm not throwing shade, I love BB, but this album is shaping up to be everything that I expected that record to be after seeing its album cover and listening to the three singles. A Kate Bush-esque masterpiece.
  3. I'm really starting to think so - I think at least one of the tracks will be around eight minutes with how the album is being described
  4. All BoZ said about track lengths is that the songs are very long and break conventional song structures (which we see a little bit in the title track with the three verses)
  5. I was scared for a minute we would be getting another Chemtrails length record, but she's coming to serve 5–8-minute masterpieces
  6. It's really looking like A&W might be the Bleachers track.. Jack, you better sing your ass off
  7. I really hope there's a song that sounds like Buddy's Rendezvous, but better. What an amazing song. That high note she makes at the end of her version is so similar to the one in Ocean Blvd.
  8. The album was generally liked a week ago, but like clockwork, everyone has to trash her previous album when a new era begins. Then they come around and move on to hating the next one and loving the previous. I love Blue Banisters and no one will change my mind!
  9. and then when LDR10 comes out, it will be nothing but Ocean Blvd slander and Blue Banisters appreciation
  10. 1. Blue Banisters 2. Black Bathing Suit 3. Arcadia 4. Violets for Roses 5. Wildflower Wildfire
  11. Yeah, I see this as being somewhat of a sister album to Norman. Norman's ocean aesthetic is much more influenced by Grease, Mazzy Star, all of these images of crowded beaches, happy days, and long drives down the coast. Ocean Blvd's imagery is much more like being by the ocean on a cloudy day, alone, contemplating about the weight of the world and your own familial baggage that made you who you are today. Much more oriented towards classic films, philosophy, poetry, memory, and listening to the crashes of the waves coming down as you think about your karmic lineage. Kind of like her poem, Patent Leather Do-Over, which I am devastated I won't be able to get to read from Behind the Iron Gates.
