  1. Still thinking about how BoZ posted yesterday that so much of this album is learning how to let go of Lana's old style to appreciate the new, and it reinforces my belief that Lust for Life was the last gift for the fans of that old style, and she'll continue going deeper and perfecting her craft in so many ways, cementing herself as one of the greatest generational artists. All of her albums are important in some way to the big picture
  2. I hope we get the next track in January, and not February I can make it to the album easily if she releases another track in like mid-January, but if she waits until February to release the second track, the wait until March is going to be torture
  3. The song with the really long acronym is fighting with A&W to be his favorite track on the record and it really delves into Lana's feelings about the media crucifying her during her career The rest of the album has lyrics mostly concerned with family, friends, and memories of them
  4. If this song has anything to do with San Francisco or the sea, I am going to fucking scream because I just made this up
  5. Pretty sure I've said this before, but I do actually prefer the title "A&W" over American Whore. Only because of the fact that Venice Bitch already exists. Venice Bitch and American Whore together is just silly in my mind. A&W makes me think of something completely new, not associated with VB at all.
  6. I've also been wanting a song like this since QFTC happened. Wow. Excited for the song with the longest title
  7. The poetry is unmatched, I think this and the final chorus with the choir are my favorite parts
  8. Just a reminder because I don't want anyone to get their hopes all the way up just to be disappointed, but BoZ did say this is a top five track on the album for him and most of the songs are very long, wordy, and completely throw away traditional song structures I'm happy that a lot of you who haven't been feeling her music in a while seem to be excited for it, but I also kinda don't want to hear it that you didn't know what was coming if you don't end up liking the record.
  9. I'm sorry that you're going through that. I'm in a similar place in my life myself, which explains why I also find this song so powerful. Sending love
  10. Over 500K scrobbles on last.fm which is crazy because her new songs usually take a over a week to get to the 1M mark and this song is going to take like 4 days
  11. yeah, and adding on to this, it even makes the metaphor of the tunnel to be this sort of purgatory or transitional state after you die - creating even more powerful feelings of the weight + fragility of existence when you listen to the song
  12. There's something about the title track that is so devastating to listen to. It really hits a sad spot that I haven't felt since "Heroin," "How to Disappear," and "Hope is a Dangerous Thing" (three H's, huh). I adore COCC and Blue Banisters, but neither record really moved me emotionally in the same ways. "When is it going to be my turn?" I can't think of this line without immediately thinking about death and it makes the entire song so much darker
  13. This song is absolutely massive. It draws you in more and more with each listen.
  14. Not really a fan of Jack's vocals either - American Whore is probably the Bleachers collaboration
  15. "As her career goes Lana challenges herself as a songwriter more and that requires listener to adjust. Many of the new songs are gonna be very long, not bound to conventional structure, centered around lyricism, raw poetry. It takes letting go old Lana style to appreciate new one." - BoZ VERY LONG SONGS? UNCONVENTIONAL STRUCTURES? Oh I WON and so many people on here are about to lose.
