I hear the loud vocals on Arcadia, but not the others tbh. Beautiful I guess would be the second song I would describe as having vocals a little bit louder than normal I have to turn Black Bathing Suit all the way up to hear her, and if you're talking about the screaming towards the end, I really enjoyed the decision to do that

and if winning requires a shiny, polished and perfect version of yourself (NFR, which I love) than I would say fuck it and start screaming my head off too

Exactly. NFR is the best and worst thing to ever happen to her. Best, because it shines a light on how massive she could be if she played by the rules but worst because it reflects how unfairly she is treated when she steps out of the box

I know Arcadia is a song that uses a specific place to convey its meaning and all, but I still think it was a missed opportunity to not shift the second verse to "My mind is a map of New York" or something along those lines. I don't think it would take away anything from the song, I actually think it would make it even more intricate than it is considering the fact that she was born here

oh, i was driving to the album earlier. Only got up to and through Violets for Roses, but man, that song, Text Book and Beautiful sound STUNNING on a car ride. Especially Beautiful. I was shocked because I thought it would be the song I needed to turn up the volume the most to hear (that was Arcadia and Black Bathing Suit, which you need to turn your volume to almost the max to hear clearly) but nope. Crisp and fresh Can't wait to listen to the rest tomorrow.

I wonder what Jane thinks about Lana now and the song that she wrote for her making a studio album after all of these years

I feel like i'm in the minority who loves the production choice in WFWF. It elevates the song completely and fits the title and thematic elements of the track

Are we still fighting about the quality of the lyrics? Christ. Just because they read like a diary doesn't automatically make them bad, just like repeating "I'm a sad girl i'm a bad girl i'm pretty when i cry x5 times" doesn't make the songs on UV any less emotionally evocative
