That’s kind of what I was missing from Charli too, her colourful/bratty pop vocals. I’m glad she got a chance to purge the emotions and feelings she had with this album and the album does have some bops but I feel like with taxi/earlier songs she just wanted to write a fun pop song without the need of it being taken seriously, it’s just fun and it knows that and she’s unapologetic in that with how she delivers the vocals. But then again the songs are like 3/4 years old so it doesn’t surprise me if she wants to move completely move on past that sound now/grown past it )’ :

Am I the only one who feels like considering part of Charli’s concept is about partying the album doesn’t actually have that many party tracks or even tracks about partying. At least considering XCX world was half an album+ full of songs about partying. I actually thought the album was mostly personal

I do hope the album is more than your average 10-13/14 tracks (and that she’s not trolling about the 27 track or 50 track thing) just because if we are going to be getting a song every month it’d be nice to have like a long body of work with completely new music to experience, although I’m grateful that we’re getting any music at all and I’m happy to see her so excited. I overplay charlis singles so quickly and easily fndngnf.

Charli has been hyping lizzo and talking about her so much I don’t think it was a label decision to put her on the track. Charli played lizzo a tonne on her Beats 1 radio sessions, it makes sense she wanted to collab eventually

Boom clap was written in 2012, and regardless of whether the song was finished or mastered or not the label could’ve pushed her to finish it and include it on TR and she refused. The timeline isn’t really impossible considering the demos existed before TR (also written during true romance writing sessions)
