the chorus of text book reminds me of the chorus of tv in black & white

i feel like there's intention behind the single covers wildflower wildfire & text book, both songs about having troubled relationships with her parents, and how it's affected her, her face is slightly distorted in both covers, her face looks slightly vacant because of the distortion, and there's "bruises" on her chest, the background is blurry and distorted, the covers themselves look more lq, the cover for text book is blue & cold, the cover for wildflower wildfire is more colorful blue banisters, a song celebrating the women in her life who have helped her... her face is not distorted, her face is not "vacant" looking, her skin is rosier and there's no bruises, the image looks clear, and there's a glowing full-moon behind her, the moon symbolizes femininity obviously they're still very strange single covers and they aren't necessarily good looking objectively, but i really like how they're slightly intentional, i'm not saying everybody should love them, or even enjoy them at all, because i'm aware they're still... picsart edits but you could also say that was intentional, since they're more raw and less professional

i know some people feel differently, but even if i don't really like an album cover, it doesn't really affect how i feel about the music itself, i never liked the album cover for "she hangs brightly" by mazzy star, yet i still think it's a great album, although i think a folk/alt. rock band from the 90s that wasn't as well-known (at the time) is different from a pretty well-known alternative artist who's known for her aesthetics and visuals, i don't think blue banisters' cover is objectively good, definitely not, but if that's the album cover, i won't be that angry about it, i care more about the music at the end of the day, but i understand why people may feel differently

very unpopular opinion but i really couldn't care less about the album cover if the music's good personally i don't think it's a great cover... but if that's the album cover i'll accept it, it could be worse... which i know is saying a lot because it's a picsart edit

i guess i'm pretty obsessed with wildflower wildfire, it's just perfect also, i've been weirdly obsessed with the "bollywood hawaii" demo of maha maha idk why but i just think it's intriguing

i wouldn't consider ultraviolence because at this point the general consensus is that it's a 14-track, or 16-track album, obviously it's still a great album even with it's standard 11, but chemtrails did feel a little short, they are still great albums regardless, and i'd be thankful for any new music at all, but i would prefer a long album, the more lana del rey music... the better

unless it was reworked, no, because zach wasn't a producer of that track

the fact that every song is a stand-out and everybody has their own favorite... i find that really special and it's evident that she really did a great job <3

i agree! that was mostly a general statement and honestly i only see people say that about her music outside of this forum, but it's still really frustrating when people act like her music is solely about sugar daddies, drugs, and depression, when it's a lot more than that! regardless, i love her music and every era/album is special <3

i know we're getting off-topic at this point, but while i agree with the sentiment that we shouldn't expect "the old lana" back after almost a decade since her debut album, i really dislike the narrative that all she sang about was sugar daddies, depression, and cocaine, her music from that era was a lot more melodramatic in a way and it did talk about troubled love, sadness, and drugs, but she wasn't just a depressed sad girl doing drugs with older men and nothing else, i'll never understand why people view her music that way
