  1. i also didn't really care for the studio version of 1949 at first, which is just so crazy to me now because i really love it and it's such a lizzy grant vibe, the fact that it's inspired by lolita gives it a slightly dark, seedy undertone which gives it a little bit more depth, but it generally is a cute, fun song which can be especially enjoyed on nice summer days <3
  2. madly and earthquakes, at first i thought they were okay, but now, i'm obsessed i'm actually quite obsessed with a lot of the tropico/ultraviolence outtakes right now, they're just so good
  3. i'm not too familiar with elvis, so this is stuff i wouldn't have picked up on! it's really interesting how hawaiian tropic seems to be mostly about elvis, that'll definitely make listening to it all the more special to know the influences behind the lyrics, that's one of my favorites she also mentions coca cola and rollercoasters in coca cola/my song 57, as well as some of the leaked lyrics for "coconut and key lime pie" edit: AS WELL AS betty boop boop lol!
  4. what are some of the other references?
  5. i'm pretty sure that's what she says? i don't think she meant it in a sexual way, i believe she meant it like, you wished you would've treated him better

  9. i am once again expressing that the way that some people talk about older women on this website is pretty disappointing and gross
  10. :serve: also shout-out to @ultrabanisters for the original gif
  11. appreciation post for the way she sings "we can get lost in the purple maze"
  12. if you want to insert a picture from a website or google, you could just right-click the image and copy/paste it, or you could upload it to imgur and do it that way
  13. i'm pretty sure she did continue work with him in 2009? it wouldn't really make much sense for c-note to be from 2008 if ruby tuesday/gorgeous $100 is confirmed to be from 2009 and it's clearly a rougher concept for the song, there's also a david kahne version of motel 6 and it seems like that track is from 2009 at the earliest
  14. 1. yeah, i'm pretty sure the demo of pawn shop blues (which i'm assuming is the same demo we have) was titled as "bread and oranges" on her myspace 2. i'm pretty sure "florida dark" came from how she titled one of the kill kill music videos on one of her lesser-known youtube channels, i don't know which channel it was 3. i believe "o say can u see" was the title in the original file for that demo 4. i would say that pin up galore is 2007 since it was produced by steven mertens 5. i would say that c-note is 2009 since every other version of hundred dollar bill was recorded in 2009
  15. if "terrence" isn't davie bowie's brother, it could be somebody she knew from her past, possibly her lizzy days, it seems like whenever alabama is referenced, such as in "i talk to jesus" it's in regards to her lizzy grant days, i'm pretty sure at some point she claimed that she spent some time in alabama (whether or not this is actually true is something i can't say for sure... there's not really much evidence for it) something which is pretty fascinating is that there's no live performances from december 2007-june 2008, obviously, she couldn't have lived in alabama in december, janaury, or february, because she was working on AKA with david kahne, perhaps she was still working with him on other songs for the following months, it's way more likely that she remained in new jersey for that period of time and just didn't get around to performing anywhere, still, she did claim to be located in alabama on her myspace during that particular period of time... either it's just another one of her silly lies, or maybe she means it metaphorically? hmm...
