I just personally think that the album would have bombed, clearly the mixtapes helped her reform a fan base as well as gain some critical acclaim. But you could see how cautious the label were about the third album following After The Afterparty and Boys. Let's be honest we only got Charli cos of 1999. I think the XCX World album would have lead to her being dropped or forever being held in label purgatory (cos she's a writer) and we'd probably still be living in a world of monthly drops or EPs. With no budgets for music videos etc. As much as I love that record I don't see any of the songs becoming hits at that time and they probably would've haulted promotion to save money.

This will always be my XCX World tracklist: To me, I can't see Bounce anywhere but track 1. It's the most experimental on the album and really kicks it off. Also the namedropping feels kinda intentional, introducing us to the people of XCX World.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, as a fan of XCX World, that album would've ended her career.

After hearing the original title track and seeing it in comparison with the standard album art it really changes the narrative for me... Like she is the obstacle and she's aware that she's the cause of whatever the "crash" might be, hence she's sorry if she hurt you. Plus the idea of the other person leaving her and starting a new journey without her (in the car) and she's not willing to let them go even if it kills her (jumping in front of the car). It's like she's so vulnerable she's dangerous?

Do we know the Japanese tracklist? Cos I saw a listing somewhere stating it had 3 bonus tracks? Is it just remixes?

Is Seronja real? I remember hearing about it back in the Sucker era and it was a rumoured 3rd single... But it seems so surreal now? Like is it an actual song that exists or what?

Imagining an AG Cook continuous mix of the album...

It wasn't rumours though... She herself said she was dropping the deluxe the same week as release day on TikTok. I know she said it wasn't finalised but I imagine that's just in terms of selecting which tracks or sequencing etc. I imagine the material is recorded and ready to go? Or if not, the deluxe will be a digital release so she can work on it up until the last minute. Really hoping (Just One) Touch makes an appearance; I know it leaked but it feels essential to this record. A bit like Dua Lipa with It Ain't Me on Future Nostalgia.

Did they sell Beg For You posters? Also glad to see TV Heaven make a reappearance! Serving some sort of alternate SNL with the TV Heaven performances of New Shapes and Every Rule... This is such a great era, especially visually! Is this the most music videos we've had for an album from her?

Also replacing Beg For You with Just One Touch improves the album so so much! I don't hate Beg For You, I actually really enjoy the song but it feels like it doesn't fit on this record at all...

This feels like the album she would've naturally made following Number 1 Angel if she hadn't went down a more experimental route with Pop 2. It feels like a great compromise between mainstream Charli and alternative Charli. I honestly love this album so much.

I understand that there's going to be an official deluxe edition with new songs, she's just confirmed that. However, "insiders" claimed that some deluxe form was coming on the 19th and so that could be some sort of expanded standard edition that includes the remixes plus Out Out to boost first week streams? With the actual deluxe edition to follow with new music and perhaps new artwork.

I wonder if the rumoured deluxe version that was coming on the 19th will be like a bonus edition? With Out Out and the remixes being included to boost streams? Kinda like when Selena Gomez released the bonus edition of Rare with Feel Me included. And then did the actual deluxe edition with new music.

Sometimes I wish she'd just thrown out XCX World in 2018, even as a mixtape... The monthly drops was a perfect opportunity to promote a new album alongside a (already leaked) project for fans. I understand why she didn't but at least that way fans would've moved on from that era... 1999 and Blame It On Your Love as singles to promote it, alongside buzz singles Girls Night Out and No Angel. Which would still be monthly drops alongside 5 In The Morning and Focus which would promote the new 3rd album. Plus the inclusion of After The Afterparty and Boys for streams and certifications. That would've went down in XCX history, then she could've started a fresh with the 3rd album that would have become Charli.

I'm interested as to whether she's putting out the deluxe so we get some more of the original material from the "Janet" album that she had started creating pre-covid. Or whether it'll be newly recorded material that has been created once the standard album was submitted for pressing. I'd love to know if any of the songs on the standard album are from the initial sessions, pre "how I'm feeling now".
