  1. They were one nomination away from securing a place in the final 5 nominees, and now I see why
  2. Back to tha Basics seems like it will be the next unreleased song to go viral from TikTok.. within the past two weeks, it has become a trend for people to show their “untouched” face / natural skin set to an audio of the chorus of this song. There’s also quite a few “fit check” videos set to the audio too. Right now there’s less than 5000 videos with the audio, but some of them have over 1 million views with the most watched video having nearly 8 million. I see this song becoming more viral as this trend continues x
  3. Well go back to sleep girl, don’t let the news flood stop now!! x
  4. The fact that for nearly the past year she’s consistently been the #2 most streamed female artist on Spotify daily only behind Taylor.. I’m not ready for this. Things are about to get crazy fr x
  5. Theorising that Lana secretly ghost-wrote Wrecking Ball, because the bridge of I Talk to Jesus also sounds like the bridge of Wrecking Ball and has similar lyrics in the first line too This song actually reminds me more of Lady Gaga’s “Shallow” though lol x
  6. I have a feeling the song was recorded in November, as she made a video post on her Instagram giving thanks for her Grammy nominations and mentioned she was in Nashville hanging out with Luke Laird at the very beginning of the video -

    Henry, Come On

@medievalthots I had put the lyrics I interpreted in the Lyrics section, so I've moved your posts to the thread I had created

    Henry, Come On

I mean Henry, come on Do you think I'd really choose it? All this off and on Henry, come on I mean baby, come on Do you think I'd really lose it on ya? If you did nothing wrong Henry, come on Last call, hey y'all Hang his hat up on the wall Tell him that his cowgirl is gone Come on and giddyup Incomplete lyrics from Lana's Instagram snippet
  9. Lana Del Rey has posted a snippet of a new song possibly titled "Henry, Come On" to her instagram. She tagged musician Luke Laird in the caption, suggesting he will be involved. Lyrics
  10. Then even more theorising - perhaps she originally met Bill at her trailer park in NJ and he then relocated to a different trailer park in Mobile and she followed him there.. because if you think about it, how would she have known someone who lived in Alabama in the first place? She did note that Bill was a romance/friend in the NJ trailer park, and Billy from Mobile was her boyfriend. Perhaps she attempted to make the relationship work by following him to Alabama after he relocated there. Maybe he had family there or something and they had visited Mobile together in ‘07 prior to them both eventually relocating in ‘08, so she felt more comfortable moving there since she was somewhat familiar with the area. Again all speculation, just trying to piece together the timeline lol x
  11. More theorising - perhaps the Billy from Mobile also lived in a trailer, which led to Lana wanting to live in a trailer of her own in New Jersey. She’s mentioned Alabama & trailers together in the following lyrics: ”Dance at night back in Alabama, Christmas lights on my teal green trailer” (Pin-Up Galore) “I go back to Alabama, take a look at my life. Where are the trailer parks and where all the Christmas lights?” (I Talk to Jesus) “All that's real to me is trailer parks and beaches, Alabama freezes, platinum and peaches, honey” (Trash Magic demo) *it’s also worth noting for this one that Mobile, AL does have beaches since it’s on the coast of the Gulf. Perhaps in this interview, she was referencing her experiences with trailer parks in general, not necessarily just her NJ trailer park. That, or there are two Bills in existence.. or she could’ve just been making up stories to either this interviewer or the Alabama fan lol. I’m choosing to believe that at least the Billy from Mobile, AL is real though x (also moving this to the Lanalysis thread since this is good discussion to have there while on the topic)
  12. I almost pointed this lyric out too, but figured it could be a stretch, though it could be a double meaning - Mobile, AL & Mobil the chain of gas stations. Of course in a later version she changed the lyric to Citgo, a different gas station chain. It is interesting though that the lyric comes from a demo of Hundred Dollar Bill! Perhaps her relationship with Billy led to her affinity for gas stations.. because if you think about it, where else is there to hang around at during a late night drive through Alabama except for a gas station? & you would certainly need to stop and fill up during a long drive… Also while on the topic of LDRAKALG songs that may have been inspired by Billy and their Alabama nighttime drives - Mobile, AL is right by the border of southern Mississippi, and she references being picked up in a truck in Raise Me Up (Mississippi South) Perhaps they would drive through that area as well during their late night drives. Lots to unpack & theorise with this! x
  13. I’ve been meaning to make this post here for awhile, but recent discussion about Lana’s Alabama days in another thread have reminded me to finally share it! For years, there has been speculation if Lana really ever lived in Alabama, as claimed on her old MySpace pages and referenced in some of her songs. When I saw Lana’s show in Alabama last September, I spoke to a fan who had met her in Florence earlier than summer and asked her if she really had lived in Alabama. She also recorded a video of her conversation with Lana, so she played that for me too so I could listen (the video was just of the ground, but you could hear Lana speaking.) When asked if she had once lived in Alabama as per the rumours, Lana said that when she was younger she had a boyfriend named Billy who lived in Mobile, Alabama. She said the relationship was short-lived but was “the most fun (she) had ever had.” She said he would pick her up in his truck and they would go on late night drives around Mobile. So, not only does this confirm that she really did spend time in Alabama, but also confirms the existence of Billy/Bill which had also been up for debate for many years! Some theorised this was a placeholder name, a made up character, or a real person we just didn’t know much about. So, we can assume that songs that mention Alabama or Billy drew inspiration from the same time period. Perhaps the most direct example we have of this is in Driving In Cars With Boys: “Mommy's Mercedes or Billy's pickup truck, come home late at night and baby picks me up. Tell him, ‘Just drive on and don't ever stop. Don't take me home again, take me to a new land’” That’s about all that I know, but it’s interesting that we can now finally confirm a few more references in her older songs! x
  14. For anyone who missed the awards ceremony and is looking for a quick catch up, I have listed all of our winners and runner-ups in the OP! I have also left page links to where the Red Carpet, Ceremony, and Afterparty began in the OP as well. I also want to thank everyone again for making this another wonderful Lipsters Awards. It’s always one of my favourite days on the site as it’s so special for me to see our community all come together for all the fun and silliness that the awards bring. Until next year! Xx
  15. Anyway, looks like my package wasn’t a disguised bomb from @Psychedelic Pussy but rather a Lizzy memorabilia from the one and only @lizzyology! This will be a great addition to my Lana collection that I’ll use to campaign for Biggest Stan again last year. (yes I slapped a ~vintage~ filter over this pic bc the nighttime lighting and my makeup several hours later was NOT hitting, though it also sorta gives it mugshot vibes which would be fitting due to my accidental doxxing..) xx
  16. Please I’m laughing so hard, im so sorry skfndks @Elle don’t ban me pls x
  17. Not me accidentally doxxing Lizzyology bc I forgot to blur our their zip code SKFNDK if anyone saw it pls don’t repeat it
  18. The package has been received.. inb4 it’s a bomb you disguised under the ruse of a surprise from Lizzyology x
  19. :thankyou3: I am! There's so many amazing members here that I'm always surprised I still get nominations and wins, though I am extremely grateful as it does really mean a lot. Maybe next year I'll exclude myself (that would mean no iconic repeated trophy image though...) OMG!!! Me scampering to my mailbox rn to collect the REAL trophy of the night
  20. Coming in with the receipts! It was a close call though! A lot of the awards were like this - that’s why it’s important to get your votes in because each one does count! Xx
  21. Next year, I'm going to buy more trophies.. I just never expect to win as many awards as I do, so I'm not prepared
  22. I really, really didn't expect to win Lipster of the Year, or even be runner-up... I was truthfully very shocked when I saw that I had won. While I am so grateful for this award and it truly does mean the world to me that you all value what I do here for LanaBoards, I must say that this site would not be what it is without all of you. @Embach, @Mer, @Surf Noir, @Veinsineon, and everyone else who has ever contributed to this site - this award is yours as much as it is mine. You make this place what it is - a wonderful home where we can all come together to create memories and madness surrounding the incredible artist that is Lana Del Rey. I'm so grateful for all of you (and Lana!) every day and it will never be lost on me how special this place is. I love you guys madly!! Xx
  23. For our final awards of the night, it's now time to honour our true icons of the year with the final year-end awards... and the winner is... Xx That's a wrap on our 2023 Lipsters Awards Ceremony! Thank you to everyone who nominated, voted, and attended! I look forward to this day every year, and this year certainly did not disappoint. Now onto the afterparty where we'll dance 'til we die!
  24. This wouldn't be the first time I was threatened to be roped into a lawsuit stemming from something that happened on LanaBoards
