  1. she clearly says

he's crazy and Cubano como yo, la la

and not 'my love'. You can see that in the video and also when she sings it live.

Yeah but what on earth does la la mean? Sometimes when she sings 'love' it sounds like la.

  2. I'm most excited for Old Money. The title gives me really classy vibes. Maybe it is the MDM of Ultraviolence.

Someone is considered to be old money, if they're rich over generations, right ?  I expect it to be really opulent, despite her new style.

FMWUTTT sure sounds controversial. I'm looking forward to it :legend: Cola is amazing and so will FMWUTTT be.

I get... country vibes from it. Like Money Hunny.

  3. The track cover doesn't look bad, I quite like it. It's not as great as BTD or Paradise but at least she looks beautiful and she's getting out of a car.

I have a feeling that FMWUTTT will be lyric-jammed like Tired of singing the blues... OR the opposite like Come when you call me america...

  4. *Sigh* Robocop. It was downloaded by my boyfriend so we watched it together. I had only heard the title and thought it would be something like Sharknado so I didn't have high hopes for it. It was better than I thought it would be, of course. Touches on some man vs science + business, is free will an illusion? themes. Still was kinda dumb but I liked Samuel L Jackson in it, hehe.

  5. WHEN IS THE VIDEO DROPPING?  Can't stand all this waiting without a date/time announced.  :smokes3:

I'm checking VEVO on twitter and youtube every minute  :rollin:

Same here. It's 3am already and I've been watching the audio video they have on youtube - which I can't stand because of the mess in the top comments section. Although it's pretty funny to see the full circle - when Lorde came out, people criticised her for copying Lana Del Rey and now it's reversed.

  6. I agree that full-on criticism is premature. But mostly people are expressing their feelings about what's been shared so far. And I'm thinking artists do want people to respond to their work.

It's not just the lyric though is it, it's the statement about the lyric

I sing, for example, "he hit me and it felt like a kiss", a feeling I love. You know when you think it's love, but it's so passionate that it becomes aggressive. It is an attractive quality to me. In a world where everyone is bored, I like people with emotion.

It's fucked up and anyone who thinks it isn't needs to ask themselves why

I think these feelings are misdirected. Maybe people think it's about domestic violence initially, but it's not, it's completely different. There's consent in this case, she just likes getting 'rough handled' so do lots of people. It's like (is) BDSM.

As per your advice parkin, I've asked myself why and I realised it's just something that me and my partner is into. Maybe we do find 'vanilla' things boring, so what.

  7. I think it's you're feeling hard to push away , I'm feeling hot to the touch.

It works with the next bit, You push it hard, I pull away, I'm feeling hotter than fire.

I also think the 'cuban like me' part is her quoting the guy, hence it's in Spanish.

But yeah, 100% sure it's more like you're feeling hard to push away (or harder?). You can hear the push and the '-ay' in away. It could also be you're falling hard, I push away because 'feeling' sounds more like 'falling'

  8. I'm in love with No Better - can someone please explain the line "but you come over at night and we practice all the breathing"? I don't want to assume it's dirty if it's not.

  9. I REALLY don't understand why any intelligent person would send their child with an addiction problem AWAY. If that were true, I'd understand if Lana held resentment toward them in the past.

Really? I thought a lot of people did, or maybe I've been watching too much Intervention?

Anyways according to the "autobiographical" This Is What Makes Us Girls, it would have been a combination of partying, grades dropping, getting in trouble with cops.. so it would make sense to send her to a strict boarding school like KENT.

  10. Umm, I think that Lorde dissed Lana and pretended to misunderstand National Anthem to get away from the criticism that she was a blatant rip off of her - "if I pretend to not know much about Lana, then I can distance myself from her". That was just my view. She reminds of LDR and Marina, she seemed like she wanted to establish herself as a 'tumblr queen' or whatever?

Anyways, I know nothing about the grammys, so when exactly does it finish? I thought it was over weeks ago

  11. OMG, I didn't know you were on lb! Your videos are so great, my favorite of yours are Jealous Girl and AFFA, you made me actually even like the songs. :angie:

Haha thanks, sometimes I can't really listen to the songs I've made vids for because I've just heard em too much.

I've also made two Lorde ones as well.

  12. Resurrecting this for some new material.

Latest video is DUM DUM, it's mostly done, however some things that I want to add are beyond my current skill.

Can someone tell me if they can hear the song? Obviously had copyright issues, but I messed around with it and it seems to have worked.

  13.

In the last scene, I think too that it looks life UFO in the sky. Something weird.

In some scenes she talks so soft that I don't listen the speechs or dialogs so well... Anyone knows if there will be avaiable subtitles?

I made a video with subtitles for the spoken parts only (not the songs themselves, of course) - when I first watched Tropico, admittedly I only listen to some lines here and there - I was too distracted by everything else. But going along with what she's saying and how the images of the video tie in with it, it made the whole watching experience infinitely better. And I got to really understand what it was about and what she was going for.
