  1. Assuming. The Honeymoon lyrics, DLMBM, and her description of the album as being "noir" don't exactly seem like indications of an upbeat album to me, though.
  2. Agreed, but we don't know Ronson's role. He could have only produced a couple of songs, and there's the possibility that it may not be accessible to the GP...he produces a lot of indie rock as well.
  3. UV was a big opportunity to appeal to a more mature, music-knowledgeable fan base had she promoted more. She won the critics over with it, but didn't expose it to enough new people.
  4. There needs to be a happy medium. I don't want her being like some of the pop stars we have today who are desperate for attention and sales, but I also don't want her to just drop an album and forget about it. You can focus on the music over sales and still make nice videos, give interviews, and perform on TV a couple of times. Her sold-out tour is also a nice step in the right direction.
  5. If I had to predict the sound of Honeymoon, I'd say Back to Black meets Nancy Sinatra's Bang Bang. A mixture of Ronson beats, a jazzy tone, and surf guitar twangs. Plus the colorful lyrics of Stevie Nicks' Bella Donna...like I said yesterday.
  6. Updated the OP with the September release news, Honeymoon lyrics, and her reply on IG about the music videos.
  7. Yeah, and it would be nice to have a couple of video interviews.
  8. Agreed. I wouldn't get too excited about proper TV performances or promo. I think she was forced to for BTD, but was never a fan. Now that she's successful, I doubt we'll see her do much of it again. I'm just excited that she's passionate about visuals and making videos again. It's such a large part of her package/appeal. I think a HQ album with new lyrical content, a few magazine covers, and a handful of nice videos would be a successful era. Maybe one or two televised performances.
  9. One of the most exciting things about Lana is that no two albums sound alike. That's pretty rare in popular music these days.
  10. For some reason, I keep imagining Honeymoon being like a modern version of Stevie Nicks' debut solo album, Bella Donna. Upbeat dreamy pop-rock with colorful lyrics and imagery.
  11. I really hope she's smart with this album and continues to evolve her sound and lyrical content. I think a lot of her future success in the industry is contingent on what she does with this album. She could either be an alternative pop artist who had a couple of nice albums or continue to cement a legacy with a monumental album. That's not going to happen if she keeps singing Dan Heath-produced songs about bad boys. I trust her judgment, though. She always surprises us and MTWBT seems like a promising concept. I'm probably reaching, but it could have a very interesting take on reversing the male gaze that is so prevalent in popular music.
  12. I think with the lack of Life is Beautiful news, especially considering that it isn't featured in the film, it's probably safe to assume that it is a Honeymoon track. It also embodies the escapist theme that is prevalent in the Honeymoon lyrics. I don't like the idea of using known unreleased tracks for new albums, but I'm beginning to wonder if Serial Killer may have been re-worked for the deluxe edition. The original producer is being pretty coy after answering a few questions about the song: https://twitter.com/_neros_/status/600112759708200960 https://twitter.com/_neros_/status/600112792696389632
  13. September could mean anything in Lana time. Hopefully we will get a single in the next month or so rather than two months before the album release like with UV. They didn't even put it up for pre-order until two weeks before the release. -_-
  14. Best: West Coast, Shades of Cool, Cruel World. The entire standard edition is perfect, though. Worst: Guns and Roses, Florida Kilos People putting TOW in worst -_____-
  15. Paradise has the worst photoshop of the bunch, though. But yes...praying for a more natural cover this time around.
  16. This is giving me "Velvet Crowbar was re-worked for UV and will be out on March 16th!!!111" teas. Everyone thought that account was a legit studio insider. And of course never forget Midnight Touch.
  17. I mean how she used to randomly debut non-single album tracks live pre-Born to Die (and with Body Electric). She did it unexpectedly with UV last year.
  18. I miss the days of Lanz playing up-coming album tracks for fans on her tours. Everything is so esoteric now.
  19. It reads like a Daniel Heath co-write to me, so I could see it sounding like UV (song). A bit orchestral but guitar-driven.
