  1. And the ending of the song now is so...flat...compared to the old version. Did she think she was making it more cohesive with the album as a whole by changing it (just to put it after California, which is more in line with the original BAR)? Can we make a petition for her to put the demo on streaming services instead
  2. No, it's up there with UV. She just ruined BAR for no apparent reason.
  3. Just listened to the demo again and...how could she ruin BAR like this? I am committing.
  4. Honey, how's it feeling? Honey, how's it feeling? I told ya.
  5. Someone will teach the child how to convert the cassette to a mp3 before then if she isn't already in juvenile detention.
  6. If I don't see this album on Apple Music at midnight, Ben and Ed will be receiving a cute little email.
  7. I'll reserve ratings for the HQ tracks. I caved and listened (of course), and there's not a single mediocre song on the record, wow. My only complaint is that the BAR demo is perfection and the new version's outro lacks the emotion and power of the former. HIAB shocked me with how good it is. I expected to hate it. No idea how to classify this album as a genre. Lots of psychedelic folk of course, but Laurel Canyon piano ballads, piano rock, and trip hop as well.
  8. I would love to hear her reasoning of why the demo of BAR needed to be changed. I miss the outro so much.
  9. Ok, so why haven't Ed and Ben put this on streaming services yet
  10. She hasn't used it since Cruel World (2014) and this feels like a self-reference.
  11. You're making it sound worse by taking things out of context. NFR: "You’re trapped through the walls and the party gets bored of you." MAC: no VB: no FIILY: "dancing to a pop song" Doin Time (a fucking cover): "we gonna run to the party and dance to the rhythm" Love Song: a party...dress. CG: no HTD: no California: a song referencing sobriety TNBAR: the only one that feels unnecessary to me. tg: :I miss dancing with you the most of all." Bartender: contrasting lyrics about house and tea parties in a larger context HIAB: "I just wanna dance with you." Hope: "I had fifteen-year dances, church basement romances." Completely different context.
  12. I love how much this album references her battles with sobriety (note the drinking cherry coke instead of wine line). Hence the theme of partying/dancing, IMO.
  13. Ok, but can someone tell me - with spoiler tags - if there are more instruments that kick in at the end of HIAB? I see a few in the liner notes that weren't in the snippets.
  14. BAR is jarring because the original ones are what we’re used to and the new ones aren’t quite as good, but the verses still slay. Happiness is fine
  15. These lyrics are her best and consistently good m throughout the album. Y’all are crazy.
  16. Ok but can you kindly suggest to pull a Bon Iver and put it on streaming services tonight.
  17. Does HIAB pick up in production at all? The liner notes mention guitar.
  18. Still don't get people saying Doin' Time doesn't fit. The transition from Fuck it, i love you is pretty seamless and the lyrics fit with the theme of the album.
