  1. so i gotta preface this by saying i've never been to a show of hers, but i've seen enough live video to understand the noticeable...change in performance quality over time. i totally agree that she can get away with putting in very little effort at this point because fans will still show up just to see her (hell, i'd still pay to go to her show if i got the opportunity, at least to have seen it once and have a real opinion). i definitely get so in the moment/into the experience at concerts that the lack of effort would almost definitely matter way less to me in person than it does through a screen! (obviously i would've loved to see the level of showmanship that's in her older performances though) i don't mind the more mellowed out persona necessarily, and i really love the music we've gotten from it, but i don't think it mixes well with the weird vestiges of her more done-up persona that are still around, and i don't think it's as unique as her whole high glamor, high drama, sad-trashy-yet-somehow-elegant-literary-hedonist-lolita deal was when she first broke out. the part that really gets me, though, is how much she's had the crowd sing for her in some shows (lollapalooza chile i wanna say? you guys probably know the one i'm thinking of). that just always comes off as really lazy to me and whenever i see an artist doing it i can't help but think of

    :pls:

  2. i don't feel or see any ounce of hope sandoval or mazzy star in this era either Lana is doing it wrong or i'm (or y'all are) on crack

lol i really felt it at first with the whole late summer MAC/VB release but admittedly less so with the chaos we've devolved into

but i still wanna hear her take on that vibe ok, the delusional part of me is still holding out for her to get her act together and it would be fuckin amazing if she did it right

or maybe i really am on crack idk

  3. just whipped up this moodboard out of anger elizabeth where is this world??? where is this colour palette where is the nature where is the spirit????

where is the soul of this record???? why are we getting the same tired shows?? critics are finally praising you where THE FUCK is the sweet tender effortless heart of MAC and VB amongst your backup dancers in neon sneakers doing dua lipa choreography???????? the space i go to when i listen to those songs is in another universe like please stop hanging out with social climbers, lay off the weed, show some love for your craft and give us norman

is that hope sandoval?? what a concept, lana PLEASE give us the mazzy star vibes we deserve

  4. unless ur a fuckin gemini

yo literally there's a lot of astrological explanations in lana's birth chart for why she is...Like That™️ (besides the fact that she is indeed very much a fuckin gemini)

like for example, she has saturn in the 7th house, which is the house of friendships/romantic relationships/interpersonal shit in general, and saturn has to do with struggles/obstacles/limitations

also pluto and saturn are transiting her 9th house right now, which tbh i think has something to do with the hillsong fuckery

i'll shut up but lmk if anyone actually wants to hear my deep dive into our favorite insta baddie's birth chart at some point, that would be one hell of a thread

...the angsty indie emo jumped out  :derpna2:

  6. I still can't believe the song is literally a metaphor for dog faced women/bitches being at a club

Hence the "who let's the dogs out?"

Weird to think a song with a meaning like that was praised back in its day. I'm just glad that feminism has finally been making its way into mainstream culture :biblio: it's been long enough

wait isn't it like the reverse? i thought it was about the women calling the men who catcalled them dogs

srry 4 off topic but i swear i remember hearing this somewhere

  7.

Okay and? I’m not constantly in that thread because it’s not as important as everyone is making it out to be. It’s not that big a deal tbh. I never said anyone is calling her anti gay either please read my posts before quoting me and getting all upset over what I said I mean yikes did I say something that hit a nerve? Damn.

We know nothing of her “support” status of it and for all we know she’s just there maybe to support a friend? We know nothing about this and it has nothing to do with the record so I still don’t know why this keeps coming up in this thread in the first place. It’s not getting anyone anywhere arguing about it

The child abuse thing is a completely other thing tho, I will say that

You guys are so bored lol

On a side note there may be a new single this month!! So I mean, that’s something lol

    holy fuckin yikes

  8. jesus christ girl we literally went over this five fucking times in the other thread about it. It's not about her being anti gay it's about her supporting a church who is anti gay. if she hung out with people who were known rapists and was too ignorant to do her own research, she'd get in trouble, so why is it okay for her to hang out at a church who are known to be homophobic and into pedophilia?

    again so y'all understand

It's not about her being anti gay it's about her supporting a church who is anti gay

thank you, you're doing the lord's work here

    ...no pun intended  :brows:

  9. twenty one pilots...i just cannot do it. i actually liked their new album quite a bit but 95% of their previous material makes me cringe reflexively at the lyrics and delivery, and feels like being locked in an empty dark icy warehouse while tiny elves with pickaxes hammer at my skull from the inside out.

the 1975. their music sounds like the sonic personification of a really bland instagram aesthetic. it feels like they were manufactured expressly for the urban outfitters vinyl section.

i KNOW there are several more that i've put in genuine effort to like but can't, but those two are all that come to mind at the moment
