  1. she's still going at it on the comment section: "I would like to see how my label promoted the single? I literally had to create the promo photos out of screenshots bc no one bothered to do anything. They wouldn’t give me a plan beyond the first day of the release. I asked for one since January 2022. I was forced & pressured to do multiple things that is their (multiple) jobs/what people get paid for. I had to focus on my tour at some point. They didn’t want me to do interviews for my first pop song in years or have anything set up beyond putting it on streaming. Literally. It’s not my job to get people to work for free despite it being a major label."

  2. lately i've been thinking that probably she's just in denial, scared that this will be her last album ever so she's refusing to put something out "that's not up to the standard" but in reality she's just unconsciously postponing it so that her career "never comes to an end".

There will always be a music video to edit, songs whose mixes need to be perfected, a soon-to-happen tour to sort out, an album cycle that will eventually start but not just yet... What's crazy about this "10 year delay" is that the majority of night time my time was technically written in just a couple of weeks with sky's own money and rushed due to pressure from the record label and yet it has all this critic acclaim backing it up and she sure feels proud of the final outcome

  3. i seriously dont understand why record labels (or even artists) care that much to the point of scrapping them when songs leak on the internet.... the only ppl talking about melanie's leaked songs are on here, fans who will buy / stream them nonetheless when they get officially released

  4.

being surrounded by such talented + creative friends she could have the hottest visuals in town with a 100$ budget, i've never understood why she isn't embracing the DIY aspect of her projects

yes I guess once they have access to her account they can access any device

but apple actually takes security to a different level, even if you have an apple device signed in with any account, they still ask for the password and/or to sign in with other devices under the same account and with the password still, so maybe its an icloud thing?

but I mean, they would still need her passcode. a whole diff thing are her harddrives or her recording cameras, but lana cmon... this is not your first rodeo, you should always backup / password-lock your harddrives, specially if they contain valuable material)

  6. hopefully the one who stole her things just wanted to make a quick buck selling them for pieces on hardware stores or second hand markets or smth like that and are just unaware of its content...

but judging by the way she's handling things i dont think its the case, sadly

  7. imo, crediting lana as a feature was clearly done to drag attention and increase sales: she could have just said that it was co-written by Lana and that the song came with a “little surprise”, and everyone would have been more than happy with the final result.

but yeah, and I think I speak for a lot of people out there, featuring someone implies at least a verse for said artist, which is not the case.

im not really mad bc it gives lana attention a fair amount of attention too: how many people outside the fandom will go back to lana’s discography after listening to the song? but it is disappointing, for sure. could have been the collab of the year

  8. volta stan here lmao, never understood why is that album so hated / slept upon. the anohni features, war references, ambient sounds scattered across songs... it gives me the exact buzz i long to find every time i play that album.

this would be my ranking according to my spotify

    1. homogenic
    2. volta
    3. vespertine
    4. post
    5. vulnicura
    6. debut
    7. Utopia
    8. biophilia
    9. medúlla

i could go into detail but i dont want to (i love them all tho)

  9.

I first heard it when it leaked a couple hours before release and my first thought was that someone was trolling uploading an outdated demo or a fanmade remix of an old beyonce song lmao

oof i got this thread on HOT my impact

so you basically come to this artist’s thread that you supposedly dont care about just to say whatever dumb shit crosses your not that really inventive mind and you think youre doing something?

sir you’ve posted several times this past day and not a single one of them were neither funny or interesting to read. your presence in this thread is nothing but unnecesary

being straight up annoying is not the hot take you think it is

For context, this is what she said about Guardian back in 2018–

thanks for bringing it up! that same year she mentioned that NTMT vinyl reissue with unheard songs.

although late everything could end up happening — she did release new material beforehand, her album will hit those shelves sooner or later, and a couple of days ago her mother suggested on insta rereleasing NTMT with proper distribution funds lmao maybe that could be her final capitol album. it may be short but she does have a flawless discography

the tracks that leaked are scrapped

i hope they’re not… there’s no masochism without guardian, plus she even sang it live, altough I would understand if she considered that song to be sort of a bridge between eras.

Guardian is sky ferreira herstory at this point and it deserves an official release, period

I love reading your posts - they're always very thoughtful and articulate!

oh that was unexpected and sweet <3 thanks love, its what happens when you have to quarantine right after your first sky ferreira show hahah

  14. last night was very much needed, thank good it went well! You can tell she was having fun and her fans had a blast which is the best thing that can happen to her and this community rn. she really looked beautiful and ethereal too, those photos taken with that venue lighting turned out to be mesmerizing! I kinda hope for a firefighter jacket comeback lol.

Im exited for the don't forget mv too. liked how she mentioned in that guardian interview how she's expected to look as a teenager as its been awhile since she's had a proper comeback and hasn't had that many public appearances, and in a way, she's still singing her teenage songs. Having been in both the pop music and model industry where youth is very much what is being 'sold', i can see how the music video can become a turning point in that matter, were she'll reappear looking both mature and self-realized

will start to manifest a rolling stone cover for when the masochism release date is announced hehe

The obsessive hatred towards this woman is so puzzling. If she’s so “lazy” & “messy” stop talking about her 24/7 & find someone to think about. Creepy as fuck & insanely low vibrational

i dont really feel like people are being that mean or rude, just expressing their opinion on the situation, which yknow thats what this forum / thread is made for

I do think fans have their right to express and share their frustration and even joke about it. the most hatred comments I’ve seen in this sky ferreira thread have came from people who dont really listen to her or even care and just wrote whatever to stir the pot

also “low vibrational”? lmao im stealing that

Some of y’all are ruthless. Like others have said, let’s be grateful she is at least making an effort. Trust me, I get frustrated too but we shouldn’t be tearing her down at a time when she’s finally on the road to a comeback. I hope that with her next performances she can just let go of obsessing about the sound quality and just be happy and give a show to her fans.

i know everyone is bashing her performances but from the videos I’ve seen, she still sounds great. I think it’s her insecurities that make it seem bad, but if she could just go with the sound, I don’t think anyone would be criticizing. There’s tons of artists that are awful live but they have confidence. Sky can actually sing, and she has amazing music, so if she could just have a little more charisma, I don’t think anyone would think twice about any sound issues.

let’s just cut her some slack. She’s out there trying, and obviously is very conscious of how she wants to be heard. Let’s stop mistaking this for her being lazy or ungrateful.

i totally understand where some of you come from regarding her health issues and insecurities, and you're totally right about this being a confidence issue – when it comes to live performing, it really narrows down to embodying the song and engaging with your audience. Hopefully, as her summer dates go by, she will regain her live strengths.

But please, bear in mind that the people attending her shows – and not just her fans – have spent a good amount of money to get into these festivals, and have given up other artists playing on other stages in order to see her perform. People can make mistakes, but if she keeps arriving late, not doing proper sound checks / not dealing correctly with her live setbacks, and getting her setlist cut short as a result, that, for me, is disrespectful. Im not saying at all that she's doing that on purpose or that she's just being lazy or ungrateful, but you have responsibilities as an artist, regardless of your background, your story, or even your fame.

Fans have accused the festival's organization several times for "kicking her out" of the stage, but please, be aware that they are just making sure the next artist gets their well-deserved time to prepare for their own set. That's how festivals work, they run on tight schedules: there are other attendees, other fans and other shows. They had that same morning for rehearsals and an hour before her set to make sure everything was fine and ready to go. Next in line in Barcelona was Angèle, which had constant fully choreographed songs and personalized lighting schemes: and that came from Angèle's team and it was their responsibility to deliver, not the festival's wishes.

And yes, you're right, she doesn't owe us anything: but her audience doesn't owe her anything either, and this can really harm her career in the long run.

I literally facepalmed when I read @sophiesmom post about her saying that she was bad and her fans comforting her. That sounds like something a teenager would do or a quirky main character in a Disney movie/series. Like girl, don't go for huge gigs if you're not mentally prepared.

I reread what I wrote yesterday and let me clarify, she wasn't that bad! I actually enjoyed her vocal performance – i dont think she sang badly, despite her saying otherwise lol – and she really looked gorgeous and quirky in a good way, she even laughed a bit when one of my friends couldn't stop screaming from excitement and there was a moment where she ¿kinda? tried to wave at someone (but she immediately stopped as she was getting distracted from the song I guess lol). Anyway, despite the messiness of it all and her looking visibly mad and disappointed there were cute moments.

Maybe I sounded a bit harsh, but it was her attitude towards the sound difficulties that rubbed me the wrong way, and I don't want to be one of those fans who will excuse everything their fave does or are willing engage in mental gymkhanas to pretend to enjoy something that's not really being fun. I really wanted to see her enjoy herself and that didn't happen, most of the time she was tragically caught up in herself instead of, you know, going for it! put on a good show despite the disadvantages! – at least thats how I felt it – and I actually ended up being more worried about her wellbeing than disappointed. At least i'm glad I was there to cheer for her.

I really like her and I do care, and if making live shows stresses her out or increases her anxiety levels to some unhealthy degrees I would prefer that she would find a way to make it work for her instead of keep tripping over the same stone over and over. That being said, I don't think i'll ever forget this concert. At times it felt like the apparition of the virgin mary lol. if anyone was there in the Primavera audience, I would love to read your experiences too! i know for a fact some people had a really great time.
