    Which, I know by now, is one of the standard best practices in kpop? ie these idols are presented in various variety shows, showing more often than not the ultra opposite of their stage/idol personas?

     

    I remember a Michael Jackson (non-verbatim) quote: A celebrity/idol must maintain their 'idolhood' persona, otherwise everything is ruined.

     

    Of which, I can understand at one perspective.

     

    Kpop, packaging their idols like so, is deconstructing that imo, all the while being an also ultra-opposite (to UK/US) in terms of dealing with these idols private lives, apart from what they agree to show on screen.

     

    The fact that nobody has ever seen/know anything about Jennie's dad, or Lisa's biological dad--is a feat in itself imo.

     

    kpop fanwars is a whole another beast, lmao

     

    I assumed that 90% of the kpop fans engaging in these 'fanwars' to be mentally around 4-10 yos

    WTH are yall on!? I like ICE CREAM faster than HYLT, man! What?! I'm gonna smack yall with a bucket of ice cream!

    Ok, ok I admit HYLT lyric will have the benefit of lyrical longevity, it is such a 'jilted solo-presenter of a class group presentation' anthem of all time. It's such a hustle hype song, ngl. It's a big fat fu song for former bullying bosses and colleagues at a shitty former workplace.

    It's such an underdog avenging anthem, I can't help but root for the lyrics.

    B-but Ice Cream tho.. it's Lana's level of double entendre kitsch, it's classic Lana. I mean 2009-2011 Lana was meant to be the writer of BLACKPINK songs! I want Lana to collab with BLACKPINK to get that GRAMMY for writer/producer category! I hereby manifesting this for the universe to hear!

    From Coca Cola to Pepsi, Lana can only wish, lol.

    There’s a twitter meme called take MBB down in which people make up fake assaults at the hands of her for laughs

     

    It started when a girl claimed she had been attacked my her because of her religion (Islam), somebody then asked why she didn’t have a burka in her propic to which she said “because she ripped it off me”

     

    She got anxiety attacks after this and deleted her twitter account

     

    I still dont quite understand but I'm cackling louder anyway.

    May I rewrite and correct me if I understand this wrong?

    Lana's stage manager Will Whitney posted on Instagram (23-07-2019) that Lana will do some kind of promo at BBC Radio 1! Day and time is still unknown buuuuut he did tell us that it will air sometime in September. :) If we’re going to guess by the pictures he shared, it seems to be a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session, and it is also confirmed that Lana and the band recorded two songs - neither are from Norman F Rockwell and we have already heard one of them. Intense discussions in the pre-release thread speculated that Lana have recorded Doin’ Time and a cover. Covers are common for artists to perform at this radio show.
