  1. Can I say something as an european? Yeah she shouldnt have mentioned those female artists. But I don't get why in the USA you're all so obsessed with seeing racism even where it's evident there is none. She mentioned black women AND white women. It's clear it's not a racism issue.

i don’t believe she meant it to sound racist at all,, but her choices were odd and inexplainable, since she posted this just as black women are dominating the charts and the artists she named are mainly black women who had a lot of hate leveled at them for talking about their sexuality, which she’s just.. ignoring for some reason

  2. wha- why is she acting like she’s oppressed NOW, in 2020, when her last three albums have been well received + half the artists she named have been through way more shit than she ever has. she’s worshipped by every sad girl/gay on the face of the earth and the critics have warmed up to her so what even is the point of this (also.. FEMALE writers? girl. the majority of people who criticized you were incel men who were mad you were having sex with people who weren’t them)

  3. i’m in the majority and actually like nfr quite a bit,, are the lyrics asinine? yes. does the vocal production make my ears ring at times? yeah. do i cringe in pain when i hear the production on htd? absolutely. are critics just echoing each other for internet points? of course they are.

i enjoy the melodies and the lack of excessive reverb on lana’s voice enough to like this album anyway (also bc mac is an absolute masterpiece),, but it makes complete sense that some people were disappointed. i might like the album, but it doesn’t feel like a lana del rey album. it feels like a pretty good album from some other artist trying to be lana del rey by using some of her songwriting cliches, if that makes sense.

  4. hey were u guys aware that changing your style of lyricism and story-telling has actually nothing to do with your artistic vision and your experiences changing who you are and what you wanna communicate to people and everything to do with appeasing the left and wanting to become a woke PC clone??? the more u know huh

(sometimes being raw and honest and daring to be vulnerable can be revolutionary. i agree that lana was mesmerizing when she was a marble statue towering over us but now she is softer and sweeter and made of flesh like you and me, and her problems echo ours and maybe that’s why some people find it more painful to listen to her. it’s not escapism anymore, and if you liked to sink into her made up worlds to escape from your grey life, then yeah, you might be disappointed)

  5. I find it so interesting she listens to Julia Jacklin & that she sang with her on stage, "Don't Know How to Keep Loving You"

it feels like a song Lana might have written - had she only had Critic success from Born To Die... the song is so raw and personal and now that the "critics" and "culture" are on her side for seeing that she is a true songwriter and artist,

arguably the best at the moment,

I wonder if Lana will venture down the more alternative songwriting route that she seems to adore (ie Julia Jacklin/Joan Baez/ other Alt girls.)

I even noticed she recently followed my favorite indie/alternative band "Big Thief" on instagram, and they are very very true to songwriting/poetry.

I hope she does venture down this authentic/personal writing for the next record... and it feels like Norman opens the portal for the fresher indie/singersongwriter sound???

    any thoughts?

i love big thief!! i hope lana’s new record sounds a bit like u.f.o.f. tbh

  6. okay so i have a completely personal grudge against astrology (one of my astrology obsessed friends started avoiding me when she found out i was a sagittarius, to this day i don’t know what she had against us sags) so if these are the actual lyrics, this is probably not gonna be for me
