Actually it seems like they weren’t paparazzi’s and yes rude fans that were following her and they took pics of her when she confronted them

Why would a fan threaten to edit her pictures :rip:?

If you’re talking about the TMZ article, they are a paparazzi site. They’re trying to spin this as if those paps were "fans". Obviously to make themselves look better. No one is buying it.

  2. That leak was obviously fake when they showed Tough was on the tracklist and they listed a bunch of producers. Cirkut wasn’t even mentioned. We sort of know he produced Tough. It’s not exactly widely known, but for a leaker who supposedly has inside information, they should’ve known better than that. Better than us. More info. Not less.

  3. She and her team (whoever is responsible) needs to stop teasing things so early. 1 week is good. 2 weeks is stretching it. This months out teasing is not it.
This type of teasing is absolutely horrible. Have a set plan for once.

So whats the theme for the song. What yall thinking?

From the leaked lyrics, it’s an inspirational uplifting self-love song about surviving through hard times, being proud of who you are and where you’re from. You’re “tough”. Very fitting into the things that she’s been saying about wanting to reach more people with classic songs. That is a very broad and universal message.

This could very well be her signature self-love anthem ala “Flowers”, “Born This Way”, “Fireworks”, etc. It could be a gay anthem or a black community anthem. The feature fits too. It speaks to many demographics.

Oh, she will. Even if not in the official interview, I’m gonna insist off the record.

I have it all played out. I’m gonna introduce myself, show my distorted Terrence Loves You tattoo and say I’m a day 1 stan. After that it’s all charm.

I also added a Lizzy Grant question. I’m gonna ask her about that project and if there are any plans of a reissue.

Can you add what’s going on with “Say Yes To Heaven”? Why did she release that with no follow up? Where’s the unreleased album??? Were there plans to release an unreleased album? Will she release “Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight” already?

Oh geez, well, I mean what can I say now? What can I say now? I mean when I, when I gave Jack Antonoff his award, um, for best producer of the year, and I said, you know, in case, I said "Welcome Nashville to Hollywood and Hollywood welcome... Nashville because the music business has gone gawn country" and it went SILENT. Five thousand... people, DEAD silent, and then the next week, we had three major artists announce big country albums. So, where is Lasso going? I really have no idea now... you know what I mean??

The way she randomly put on a country accent while saying this :lmao:.

  6. Ok, after letting this simmer a little bit, L4na was talking about the reception of the album. How it’s going to be received. She said “I really have no idea now!”. She didn’t the mean the direction of the album. She meant the reception.

“American Songbook”. She meant the lyrics specifically. Not the genre or the sound. The album is still country. They were asking her about the lyrics. The album is going to be more melodic and less self-revealing. LYRICALLY. In a similar vein to The Great American Songbook. LYRICALLY.

I don’t think she’s changing her mind or whatever.

Interviewer: What can you tell us about Lasso coming out later this year, you're going country right?

Lana: Oh jeez, well what can I say now. What can I say now. I mean when I gave Jack Antonoff his award for best producer of the year and I said welcome Nashville to Hollywood and Hollywood welcome Nashville because the music business is gone going country and it went silent. Five thousand people dead silent and then the next week we had three major artists announce big country albums so where is Lasso going I really have no idea now. You know what I mean?

Interviewer: Lyrically (?) while it's been inspiring is it part of that fun and ease you were talking about on stage?

Lana: Yeah I would say so, maybe less to say in terms of any kind of self-revealing things like on Tunnel or Blue Banisters or Chemtrails, more melodic, maybe more like American songbook style.

she doesn't know either like it's giving this album is not even in the making :toofloppy:

I mean it’s pretty obvious, no? She said it pretty clear to me.

She literally said people were not excited for a country album “dead silent” when there were 5000 people in the room. Her mentioning that there were 3 major artists as in she doesn’t want to follow them. 3 other people are already making country albums. I don’t want to be making country now. Aka she doesn’t want to be seen as a trend hopper.

Tbqh, I was questioning her why she was saying stuff like “the music industry is going country, so we’re going country”. I’ve expressed that she’s never been the type to follow trends. Now, she’s proving me right in a sense that she is self-aware. She actually does not want to follow trends.

Side note: Why is she so expressive? Fidgety and flinchy in interviews now? And good lord, her make up looks awful. It’s even more obvious in this video. The lighter eye shadow does not work. She looks sick. Like ill. The pasty make-up and the blondish/grayish hair is also giving grandma. Sickly ill grandma. Not that different from this.

and that’s EXACTLY why I LOOOOVE Pamela’s makeup and despise Etienne’s. She does NOT need all of that overdone makeup he does on her, especially that horrible lip liner

His make-up is great esp for the stage and stage lighting. Coachella is the best she’s ever looked in YEEEAARS. Don’t speak on Etienne.

Pammy is giving retirement home. How do I say this? I feel like her make-up looks best for younger faces. It looks like L4na is not wearing anything at all. The pasty look makes L4na look like the crypt keeper. And the lighter eye shadow makes her look sickly.

Etienne’s tan snatched make-up suit current L4na way more.

It's an imaginary (AI) song for Lasso. Honestly, if this was a lead single (with better vocals from Lana), I wouldn't mind this direction at all.

It's giving Tarantino, it's giving Kacey Musgraves, Nancy Sinatra, and it's fabulous.

The lyrics are horrible :lmao:, but this is the kind of Western influenced sound I want for Lasso honestly.

not the first comment being about her apparent lack of stage presence :um4:

It’s a bit awkward for her since she had to sing that one line over again over again for the rest of the song :lmao:.

Peppers is very much a solo song. T0mmy’s voice was just used as a short hook. For a live version, T0mmy should have had more parts to sing. Either sing some of L4na’s parts, or harmonize with L4na, or add more lines from her song Angelina. Doing this more accurate version to the studio version, might as well use play back honestly. T0mmy had like one line.

I just listened to American Jesus, I counted like 30 references to BTD/PE songs. Instead of making some shitty post about being copied and imitated, Lana recognised her impact, saw a bit of herself in that girl,  and bought her out on stage. She showed us a kind, humble woman. The way BTD is still impacting all these artists after all these years and it was so heavily panned at the time is so inspiring. The way BTD’s working title was “The Revenge of LDR” feels so apt as an OG in this heyday we’ve found ourselves in. Life imitates art indeed.I think this truly might be the peak for us. The last couple of years have been crazy, and through it all she’s still helping the others up. She’s a one of a kind. And I’m glad she seems to be enjoying her revenge.

Yeah, it’s very nice of her but at the same time there are other ways to show appreciation. She doesn’t have to bring everyone and their grandmothers on stage with her.

I still believe in the theory that L4na has been cloned. 2023 L4na onwards is not the same person.

no it’s cute i kinda hope they collab

    Oh, h3ll no.

    ———————————

The setlist is not bad. At least she’s changing it up (the first half). GODppers LIVE was needed. GODtail :gclap:(even if it was just a snippet :toofunny:). Cutting Arcadia, NFR was a good move. Now cut Bartender next :gclap:. The mid block (Cherry, PWYC, Ride) also needs to go. If she’s going to keep doing the monologue thing. A good one to replace Ride with would be National Anthem. Just do the whole monologue and the song (National Anthem). She can also alternate it between shows. Some shows will have Ride, others National Anthem.

Definitely needs to remove the amount of guests tho (4 guests are way too fvcking much). 1 or… maybe 2 is enough. Also, like people already said, the guests need to sing her songs too. It’s your show. People are paying to see hear YOUR songs LIVE. Why are you singing other people’s songs? Like it’s getting weird. Does she not like her own songs :deadbanana:? And having that many guests lessen the impact of those appearances too. I thought the idea was to give the guests spotlight. “Special guests”. Now they are sharing it with a bunch of other artists. It’s giving talent show.

Less guests and more singing (your own songs).

Also, who did her hair and make-up for this show? It did not give. Why does she look like she just roll out of bed? That outfit continues to be stunning. The hair for this show… Not so much. And the make-up???

  13. Every song has a switch up which is really cool. But it’s almost every song which lessens the impact of the switch up in those songs. The progression becomes predictable. Like you need peaks and valleys on the album. If the album is all valleys or all peaks, it’s numb. I’m now expecting every song to have a switch up, which it did. That’s not that exciting anymore. It’s like if Ocean Blvd were full of songs like A&W, which sounds cool on paper. But I don’t think it would like it as much.

This albums feels like Ocean Blvd. In a sense that it’s structurally loose. Songs go places. L4na was really testing people’s patience. It’s a good idea on Billie’s part to make this type of structureless album short and with less songs for commercial purposes. If this album were any longer or slower, it would’ve been a huge flop (quality and numbers).

It's funny because it tries to subvert your expectations, and it does in a singular song, but as an album, it becomes predictable. And lyrically, it’s nothing special.

Still, overall, a solid album (sonically).

raise your hand if you're tired of people thinking the lizzy grant days were filled with darkness, suffering, and despair and claim it was "problematic" or whatever :holla: :eyeroll2:

Yeah, but they don’t think it’s “problematic”. That post is clearly made by someone who likes despairs and suffering and L4na… as a satire (which can still be problematic). They’re claiming Lana as their Cinderella. As their “reverse Cinderella”. It’s not meant to be a dig at her at all. They are basically idolizing her.

They don’t think “Lizzy Grant days filled with darkness and suffering” is problematic that’s why that post was made. The person who made that is the same kind of people here if we’re being real. It’s just a satirical take (“funny” joke) on people that like dark and emotional things, which let’s be honest are most L4na fans and basically L4na herself.

I’m just stating what I’m seeing.

i’m sorry but depression and abuse are never going to be a joke, especially after all the things she revealed about her story when fingertips was released

The people made them memes ain’t listening to fingertips. Anyway, it’s a running joke about her always making “depressive” music. It’s not that deep. They might have gone a bit far with abuse stuff but that’s generally what it is. Satirical. It’s very clearly exaggerated. I don’t think the person who made that meme thinks L4na is actually like that or expect people to take that seriously.

Wait until L4na finds out about this account:

  16. That post was clearly a joke. It’s not meant to be taken seriously. It’s satire. I don’t think the fan account made that post. They just reposted it. It’s a meme.

If the insider said it might be on Lasso doesn't that mean that it was always Lana feat. Quavo AKA a Lana song? Why would she put someone else's song she's only featured on on her own album? Although I wouldnt put it past her now that I think about it

Yes, but people are just in denial :oprah4:.

The leaker also said it’s a country (rap/trap) song, but people ignore that and keep saying it’s solely a hip-hop song. Qu4vo posting that video of L4na in the field playing guitar basically confirmed it’s “country”, but people ignore that too, saying it’s for other videos and projects despite the caption above in huge letters saying “Tough!” :toofunny:. The leaker also leaked the title “Tough”, which is basically confirmed atp, so they are not lying. And I don’t think Qu4vo is doing country music or has plans to release a country album. The only person doing that in this collab is L4na.

  18. 56 minutes ago, barttttender said:

The only thing I'm getting really worried about is Tough! has a bifurcated structure like AW.

Imagine 4 mins of soft country and then a shift with Quavo rapping for 2 mins and lana's ad lins. 🤦🏻‍♂️

that would infuriate me. Like, just release a straight-up bop, woman, damn it.

It’s about 3 minutes long according to the leakers. Also, it’s produced (co-produced?) by Cirkut. He’s not going to do that.

    Also this interview:

    Quote

As such, she has plans to write an album of standards — classic, simple songs that could reach even more people than she does now.

she isn’t going to just surprise drop a lead single lol

whenever this is about to drop, we’ll know

Ocean Blvd (song) literally surprised drop out of nowhere. So did A&W. So did SYTH. She didn’t post about any of these beforehand. We only know because of “insiders”.

  20. Deleting what I said earlier because I’m going crazy. Reading other people’s opinions before writing my own can really influence me for some reason right now.

I posted before that I want a classic sounding album with no features. Some how I got really excited for the Qu4vo collab, but then I posted again that I don’t want it :toofunny:. I think I got really excited for it because it’s the first commercial sounding song she’s going released in ages. Then, I realized I don’t know if I want commercial sounding songs (because it could end up sounding generic and gimmicky with the country rap thing), and I actually don’t want features on the album because her lastest album was already full of features.

I guess I’m open to features even though I prefer the album to have no features. I can’t really change what’s happening right now, so it’s better to just get exicted for it. I’m also open to her doing a more commercial sound because it is unexpected coming from Ocean Blvd that’s why I was excited for it. Something different is always good, especially from your last release. I just have some worries with the “commercial” sound. I will remain cautiously optimistic.

I still hope that the album is concise, even with the features. 11–12 tracks. I just don’t want another long album loaded with features and interludes like OB and LFL. We don’t want another album like that again consecutively.
