that's her signature song ofc she's going to perform it
Well yeah but of course its boring for everyone but the casual fans. It's boring watching Lady Gaga perform her 2008 songs with the same choreo too, same thing. You're either nostalgic for it or you didn't listen to it to death to a point you moved on. As a longterm fan it gets easier to watch some artists shows on 1.5x speed or 2.0x to enjoy it all the way through lmao

The first half of the setlist was only upbeat songs like West Coast, Doin Time, Cherry... the second half had ballads and slower songs which makes it balanced. Did you guys really expect her to sing Summertime Sadness remix or something? Be ffr
Anyways, her performance was immaculate. Hopefully the mic issues will be fixed for weekend 2.
I don't need her to perform Summertime Sadness in any form anymore honestly, does anyone else care for that now? It's 2024
I don't know how she can still sing that without just going through the motions. To enjoy an artists music live if you watch every show you'd have to stop listening to the songs so that you could miss them a bit, otherwise it's just unnecessary. That's why it's so much better for casual fans

Glastonbury 2023 was also really good.
Glastonbury was great (aside from the lateness causing her to be unable to finish her set lol) but those shows were only exciting because of the possibility of performing Ocean Blvd, Blue Banisters and Chemtrails songs she hadn't before. Nothing has happened since to make this compare, they're probably gonna be cute shows though nothing more, nothing less

There might be a different outfit but yes it will be the same show, that's how this stuff is usually organised. It would be weird for her to do a different show at the same festival to a different crowd

I really enjoyed her shows last year but yeah she can't just create a whole new level of energy without new music. It's only exciting when she might do something she hasn't before, and no that doesn't include coming in on a bike, that's just cute stuff. lmao I love her to bits though, I'll probs have a smoke and a drink and enjoy this show a lot in a bit. People can't expect anything drastically different every time though. Setlists are often boring even with people like Lady Gaga because they tour for every single album and the setlist can never actually be surprising

REAL. So glad I saw the OG LATTM tour. No reason to see her again unless she drastically switches things upI've been to a Lana gig before where I left 3 times to smoke outside. Her music is incredible but this isn't an essential part of things imo. Once you've seen it you've seen it. The rest of it... lil surprises, hairstyles, outfit, whatever, is cute and all but if you get hyped of course you'll be disappointed. Even if you go multiple times in person it's not some kind of magic unless you have some weird delusion about it all. They're just gigs. People need to chill with their high expectations, Lana has never done anything more live. If you want a show that's high energy and will surprise you just watch Beyonce like I do

Again she's not a showgirl, she does gigs and they try to make them fancy with the dancers and backdrops but of course its not the most exciting thing in the world if you've seen it before. I could take or leave it. I'm a Hope stan, I'm just glad that was on the set list. Also West Coast but I don't really need a live version, we have the song lol

Lana's been giving us variations of LA to the Moon tour ever since it happened and some people still expect some kind of career defining life changing performance out of her
If she sounded good be happy about it, goal achieved lol

1 minute ago, Trash Magic said:That's irrelevant I've heard them a million times and I'd be happy to listen to them a million more. It was her subdued energy that made it an unexciting watch.
Did you want her to do cartwheels to Without You and Summertime Sadness? These songs don't require energy
-
Lana's not really a showgirl, I consider her performances gigs not Beyonce level shows, she stands and sings. Of course it won't be thrilling the 300th time you've seen it. It's nice for those who still think she can't sing basically thats about it. Nice little surprises here and there but nothing to be genuinely hyped up over, its silly to be disappointed

4 minutes ago, Trash Magic said:The intro had me sooooooo hype. She looked incredible. It pretty quickly became difficult to remain interested in the performance however.
Well yeah we've heard these songs a million times lmao, stuff like this is more for the casual fans ironically

If I didn’t see anything beforehand it would have been slightly better than what I’d expect from a normal show of her. Her vocals were not the best, but not too bad either and apparently there were major sound issues. I am still hoping for a Lasso related announcement soon but I won’t hold my breath
Oh ffs it's Lana not Beyonce, hype her performances and you won't enjoy them that much

Which episode did she talk about Lana on?

The only guest I could care to see her perform with is Father John Misty so idc lmao but I doubt there's gonna be new songs

I wasn't gonna stay up until 7:30am because I know the show will be online tomorrow but I'm still up so here we go

1 hour ago, lili said:Never really been a Beyoncé fan though I liked Lemonade but this record is sooo good. She’s so soulful? Also, she’s not afraid to be vulnerable which is refreshing. She has that special combination of power and vulnerability which was what drew me to Lana in the first place. “Daughter” is such an exceptional track which blew my mind the first time I heard it. I’d die if Lana did something like that. The only tracks that don’t do anything for me are Levi’s Jeans and Jolene, I’ll be spending a lot of time with the rest
It's unbelievable honestly. She was already an incredible performer, the greatest imo, and she's solidifying that reality into the music. This is amazing. Ya Ya and Daughter live, can you even imagine? Fuck.

Nobody thinks they're better than anyone, its about what became boring because its redundant after being done 500 times before. Already made the point its great for casual fans, they haven't seen it before. Nobody cares about being "underground" or what ever delusional perspective you're coming from, its just a gig. Not everything is to a different extreme lol its not that serious
