Everyone hoping for something fun and different but it's just going to be a folk/country music album with basic production and lyrics about how happy and content she is living on her horse ranch and going to church every Sunday with her best friends Margaret and Nikki Lane or whatever. Everyone will eat it up anyways though.

I wouldn't mind Chemtrails 2.0 with different producers :brows: we know she's working with Jack and more people this time (similar to Ocean Blvd I guess) so it's going to be interesting even if it's just a collection of simple songs.

I still don't know what to expect cause Ocean was really diverse even if she only mentioned the "automatic singing" and confessional lyrics in the interviews before the album (which were accurate but not for the whole record).

Also it's probably far from done... I'm sure she has a lot of songs already but she has to change the tracklist around 4 times as usual :hide: and she's for sure still writing and recording stuff that might not even be similar to her descriptions...

  2. Both Fishtail and the Jon Interlude are suddenly nowhere to be seen (at least in my region) in the Instagram music feature... it probably means nothing but I find it a bit weird :um2:

It would be so Lana to make a MV for those two and release them as singles as Grammy campaign :hide:

It's probably a random bug in the platform but sometimes tracks disappear temporarily from there when there's some kind of distribution change (for example when labels make EPs/bundles with already released singles or when standalone tracks get added to an album)

  3. I wonder if this is like W Magazine where we got (probably coincidentally) glimpses of the next album's aesthetics (black and white, simplicity and vulnerability, boobs).

It kinda fits her Americana description for the upcoming album but there's some pictures more on the glam side. I know the majority of these photoshoots have minimal input from the artist but I like to speculate :hide:

I wish they asked her a bit about music but well... maybe there are some surprises coming not necessarily about a new album but a side project anyway :brows:

  4. 1. BTD

    2. Paradise (technically an EP/reedition but it's long enough and it has a different aesthetic and sound to consider it a whole standalone project)

    3. UV

    4. HM

    5. LFL

    6. NFR

    7. Chemtrails

    8. BB

    9. Ocean Blvd (the 9th studio album is literally everywhere in the promo pictures)

The pre BTD stuff is technically unreleased and it's not even under the same name and Violet it's not really a studio musical album. It's an audiobook with ambient music made as a selection of poems from her book.

    More about Violet

    Spoiler

It's poetry not songs. It has no melodies (other than the instrumental), not on streaming (as an album, only in audiobook sections), no MVs and it was never promoted as a Lana Del Rey album. So that's why I don't count it as a Lana album per se.

  5. I feel like she made the production simpler to make the lyrics even more the focal point of the songs (in some of them more than others). Like for example Kintsugi and Fingertips wouldn't hit as hard if they got a big orchestra or a complex instrumentation (and the orchestra in Fingertips is only really noticeable in specific points and lines of the song).

It also makes sense considering the most diverse production appears in the less serious songs like Peppers/TTxVB or for example Judah Smith interlude having the most intricate piano in comparison to other tracks.

Other personal and deep songs on the album have prominent and beautiful strings (title track, The Grants) but they still have some simpler moments with room to breathe in comparison to BTD (album) for example, where there was something going on in the background at all times.

I prefer that kind of production tho, where even the instrumental on its own was a complete musical piece but I get why she had this switch considering her different approach to music and songwriting now :um2:

i mean we haven’t gotten any Jack or Drew leaks so she may trust them more with security of her songs.

Jack's security seems really tight but we did get some Drew stuff (OB title track and Fingertips snippets when they were illegally sold only alongside an Arcadia demo).

And yeah all the "new" Rick releases were actually old so I wonder why she's not going back to him for a couple of tracks at least. She's still friends with him so maybe it's a scheduling issue or maybe his style doesn't resonate with her anymore :crying4:

I get that she maybe wanted to switch it up a bit but she doesn't seem to mind doing a 4th album with Jack :hide:

  7. Unless something unexpected happens I think all the Lana albums in the near future are going to be similar to OB as in 50% Jack 30% random new collaborators she meets along the way and 20% old producers like Zach or Drew.

Even though it could be hit or miss I wish we got another UV situation where she does the whole record with somebody new :bodyisready:

I just don’t think Rick Nowels and Lana working together again would be the gag some of you expect:bebe: It would just be another song like Bartender or Happiness is a butterfly (Not that those are bad songs but just not the Honeymoon/Lust For Life vibes that come to mind when you think about Rick and Lana. It is also just so similar to things Jack can do)

I agree 100% with this cause at the end of the day it's Lana's vision being the driving force but I have to say, in the piano department Rick's melodies are way stronger than Jack's (but he shines in other areas of course)

  9. I wonder if we're getting this sooner than we think since there's no updates on the unreleased collection or even another standalone unreleased song :silly:

I still think we're getting a new song this spring :true:

I wouldn't mind waiting a bit more for LDR10 if we get the outtakes album or the covers in between but you never know with Lana and a new single barely one year after the previous album would match her releasing schedule :brows:

  10. I don't know how unpopular this is cause I've seen mixed reactions all over the internet but I don't like the new tour at all :crying5:

I love her looks, vocals are amazing and she's so happy so I'm happy for her but all the dancers doing random shit on stage takes me out of it :hide:

She said it helps her confidence so at the end of the day I'm glad for her but I really miss the earlier tours when it was just her doing her random mini dances, the sexy drops and the walks around the stage without any planning.

I guess it made every single show a bit more special cause you didn't know what to expect from her and now it's all more choreographed and such

I get why some people would prefer this type of show tho
