omg happy 30th fucking bday to little earthquakes!! a landmark album, an insane debut, that girl who really started it all. if you don't think all your favs now are influenced by her (whether they know it or not) you're wrong :diva:

So many timeless classics that just rip your heart out. Mother is my favorite. These are life-changing songs.

The live album Live at Montreuex 1991/1992 really captures the power of her performances in the LE era. Spellbinding!

on a serious note i’d love a kind of unplugged ep this year. maybe Nectar Of The Gods, Yosemite, Not All Who Wander, Sweet Carolina and Blue Banisters :headache:

A live unplugged hootenanny exploring the 2021 songs would be magical!

Peers and legends can sit in for a song or two. It should feel earthy, organic, fuzzy, warm. There should be a harmonica.

Bruce on guitar and backup vocals for the acoustic IYLDWM/American/I'm On Fire medley.

Like this Neil Young, which really evokes Chemtrails, or the other way around

Wake up each night at the same time
Roll up the blind and look outside

This is life, this tonight, peace in the quiet

Listening to this song at this time of year just smashes your heart to bits. It's so very special.

  5. Oh yeah the title track is otherworldly. I love how it defies being any one genre. I mean what is it even? Is it folk, is it jazz, is it singer-songwriter indie, is it a rock ballad, is it Sgt. Pepper, is it churchy?

When she first announced the title it sounded like it was going to be some kind of cultural critique, about conspiracy theories and the 1% lying by the pool while the world burns kind-of-thing. And then the song we got was not that at all. Instead it's a nostalgic fairy tale, really personal, opting out of the horrible world of 2020 by drifting into memories and simple pleasures, washing her hair doing the laundry and watching tv. That's the statement. It's so brilliant and accurate I love it.

Looking back now, you can see it's the gateway to the diaristic BB songs.
