  1. i've cracked my phone like that (more than once) it's just what happens when you have no case and it falls rly hard, like down stairs or something
  2. After watching this music video I interpret every single Lana song differently. Like I seriously think I can tie every song into this music video she's just a genius she really is I take back all the chemtrails slander
  3. That's the entire point. In the video, on screen, she's showing what she actually did, and then behind the scenes she's showing the feelings of it. So Lizzy in actuality did choose the life of Lana Del Rey like all the women she idolizes (like Marilyn and the other women represented in the video who were looking for one thing but got another) but she recognizes that it was the wrong decision. She doesn't want to fall into her old ways which were the ways she sees these hollywood stars as acting as - if that makes sense
  4. You're my religion You're how I'm livin' When all my friends say I should take some space Well I can't envision That for a minute When I'm down on my knees you're how I pray
  5. A lady offering lana the choice between the blonde wig (Lana staying true to herself and being Lizzy) and the red wig (Lana choosing Hollywood - like all the other stars did in the video)... the difference is she realizes "..you've (hollywood) been bringing me down", along with whoever she's singing about.. She chose to show every important aspect of her career in one video now I 100% understand the "where do we go from here" comment she made Lana asking "Do you like it?" to someone "behind the scenes" as she looks at the red wig in the MV is so genius, it mirrors the behind the scenes people in the music industry that convinced her to make choices she didn't want to make. She was convinced and since she had a good heart she believed them, like all the other Hollywood starlets. But where did they end up? Dead in a box. Lana is saying NO not me and tbh as she should
  6. I feel like the words are giving lifelong christian coming to terms with god not being what they thought it was Coming to terms with divine temperament Multifaceted, the jewel lures out of terror Spinning around and so out of my element Ancient and precious, I hope for an answer No answer comes, orange mouth, take a gander Jalopy beat up, I'm asking for prayers Let me know if any lines need explaining
  7. Again let's acknowledge she has been WRITING THIS SINCE THE BLUE BANISTERS ERA.. give the woman her flowers
  8. I'm not sure it's this simple but I do think that she represented diff "eras" with diff parts of the video. Like I think the beginning of her walking into the house is Lizzy (A: the BTS shot of the leaves being purposefully blown into the shot then the shot being shown beautifully is beautifully metaphorical B the pretty trees behind her when she's "driving", which end up being fake too lol, may be representative of Lake Placid).. At the beginning she actually seems excited, she's going to LA and she's gonna make it! Then, it cuts to the director saying "Lana that was cool" like not understanding the full message, and Lana understanding that and smiling and putting on a show behind the scenes.. which is the point! That behavior is exactly what she sees in Marilyn, etc. that she represents in the video But the video is a powerful statement of acknowledgement. She's like I know what you think of me and why you think it so take this video and fuck off LOL.
  9. It's 1000% both. She's not only "portraying Marilyn" but portraying Marilyn because she sees herself in Marilyn. She's presenting the different sides of herself through these different hollywood legends (who never grow old) and their sad stories. She's identifying with them and making a defiant statement that she is not going to go down the path they did. Almost all of her music heavily touches on this thematically. But yeah I feel the BB era was portrayed a lot in the video (which she was writing since then so I'm not surprised about it) specifically with the middle finger and the "get out". It's a reference to the middle finger she gives at the end of Arcadia, an important song to her, where she tells the media to "get out" of her life. I'm so excited Lana made something like this. It's actually amazing I'm not fake excited like usual But "fake" excitement with lala is way better than "real" excitement with other artists so what do I know. But truly I think she thought this out so deeply. If you guys only watched a few times and were like "Eh, next" because of the behind the scenes filmmaking, try again
  10. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRKfEmcW/ Like this is really who she is she's so iconic like it makes sense why she gets so frustrated when people question her authenticity she rly is miss authenticity
  11. I'm bored and high and on Lanaboards (my usual night time routine) and all these threads are DEAD where's the life where's the vitality (obviously nowhere it's the middle of the night) Ok so this is the game. People reply with a random set of words and a theme for the song and other people quote those people with a creative and stunning interpretation of the string of words in the form of a song verse I did this as a status update and I think I did a great job.. Example (it's my beautiful sex song "Crocodile Teeth)
  12. Did you read my post I said double entendre.. I understood the apparent blood diamond metaphor and Black Dahlia reference I was just saying I think there are more layers to this. This is very clearly one of Lana's most thought out videos ever. Every shot is thought out and has a meaning (imo)
  13. I think the diamonds falling in to blood is an obvious reference to the industry, loss of innocence, and a blood diamond metaphor etc but.. to me it looks more like wine than blood. Lana might be making a double entendre referencing the bad side of the industry and perhaps how alcohol played a part in that within the lens of her career
  14. Why is this thread dead the day after lala released one of the best MV's of her career I'm gonna write a long analysis explaining my thoughts on the video when I have time later, it's too much to cram into a short one
  15. Tbh the entire post seems plausible. Obviously it's hugely speculative to believe a random Reddit post but I would not be surprised in the slightest if it's true. Especially bc it was posted three years ago which is before Lana started sharing more of her thoughts/mindset on things
  16. The faces aren't the same but their stories all end tragically And that's the price of fame A tale as old as time You'd be a pretty little fool to think exceptions to the rule just walk around like you and me - Dark But Just A Game
  17. This.. it just seems so oddly specific to the scene of Lana singing for all the people but really wanting to leave
  18. Anybody remember that seemingly fake Reddit post where the poster's BF apparently worked for Lana's tour team during the UV tour. The post said earlier in her career she would often be cloaked up and shuffled into the back of shady private events that gave her anxiety etc and that's where some of her 'problems' originated from... It's very similar to what was portrayed in the music video
  19. I feel like this song /MV really lyrically mirrors black beauty except instead of looking at a man she's looking at the world, which she is maybe also doing in black beauty through the metaphor of the relationship I paint my nails black I dye my hair a darker shade 'Cause you like your woman Spanish Dark, strong, and proud I paint the sky black and then the end of the MV is the message she's been trying to hint at since UV I keep my lips red to seem like cherries in the spring Regardless of all the turmoil she acknowledges she needs to move forward or else she'll feel lost and "stuck in snakeholes" like the women she references through the representation of her career in the MV - she said it was a "where do we go from here?" ending, as in, she's acknowledging her relationship with the media/celebrity as over, and she's know wondering where her music/life will go from here. That's how I see it at least, but Lana changes her mind all the time and this doesn't mean anything for the future implications of her music imo
  20. 1:21:04 She literally had the entire thing thought out.. she was talking about making the video and that it was so triggering that she had to stop writing it. It really is as deep as we're interpreting it to be she's just a genius
  21. Ur purposefully choosing to look at semantics instead of acknowledging the point.. in my book that means whatever ur saying doesn't rly mean that much It's about the values.. ur valuing Lana's message over the art direction and actual filmography and others may not. At least that's how I see it
  22. I don't know about failing the intelligence test.. I love the video but obviously there are going to be people who prefer a more professional, intentional, and well done video. It's not acknowledging the truth imo to pretend like anyone who doesn't like it doesn't get it. People can get it and have critiques But for me personally.. lala ate down and anyone who doesn't like it should re consider Lana's art and where she is right now, she's over all that (at this specific moment in time).... and also you guys should consider that you're literally proving the point of the music video.. that you guys want the movie version of her (the pretty film footage) and not the real version of her (the behind the scenes footage)
