No : I'm in france + it seems to be the original mix on the CD, only apple music UK seems to have the radio edit. So our only chance is to have a UK Apple Music user recording it for us.

Why do you think the CD contains the original mix? Either way, we are not allowed to share released songs (either for purchase or streaming) on Lanaboards so I don't think anyone will post it.

i didnt know drew did work on this album

Lana said this in a recent interview, seems Mitski was one of the artists she meant.

I had for example decided on the last two albums to work with Drew Erickson [Mac DeMarco, Weyes Blood...]. In the meantime, he has become a composer and a producer that the industry is snapping up. I consider him a genius, he will become a fundamental songwriter. I am honored to have collaborated with him when it was still possible.

You really can't deny that she takes advantage of her fans' parasocial relationship with her. It's very blatant and she has absolutely no shame about it. This is the same woman that drops different vinyl variations one at a time for a limited time only instead of just dropping them all at once. The same woman that released 4 "Journal Versions" of Lover with each having a different journal so fans will buy 4 copies. The same woman that made the back of the different Midnights variations on both vinyl and CD form a clock so fans would buy all 4, along with a clock stand for both vinyl and CD. And it doesn't end there. She's not your friend, she's a business woman. Putting energy into defending her and telling people to stream the (inferior) "Taylor's Version"s of albums is crazy to me. (mainly directed at the twitter swifties, haven't see much of that behaviour on here)

Also selling CDs with their cover hidden for a limited time so that fans can't even make an informed decision on which one to get

Thank you so much! yeah I think that makes sense that it's a newer mix but from the first version of the song.

quoting Blackoutzone: "Back then the track was very bare, mostly carried by acoustic guitar loop and very subtle drum pattern." Which does sound like the released version, but I imagine with less of the backing strings, etc. Orr maybe not. It's just that the strings and other background sounds stand out to me a lot and I can't imagine them being in the earliest version and removed later for UV and Honeymoon versions.

The strings are by Patrick Warren who worked with Lana back in 2013 so I don't think they have been recorded later.

So do I have this right (based on what Lanapedia says)?

The released 2023 version is actually the original version produced by Rick in 2013 and has been untouched since 2013?

All other unreleased versions we have heard were reworks after Rick's version. And even though Rick's version might have 90 mixes, they must all sound like the released version we have?

Previously, I thought it was a later version of SYTH that was released. Like Lana kept wanting to perfect it over the years and finally got there more recently. But if the above is true, she eventually decided it was best as it originally was.

There is conflicting information. Some of the people who worked on it said that the released version is the "original", but it's unclear if they mean with that.

    I'd recommend reading BlackoutZone's blog post: https://blackoutzone.net/the-zone/say-yes-to-heaven-timeline-of-a-timeless-gem/

The way I understand it is that the released version is a new mix made from the original Rick Nowels session. Until we get a leak of one of the 2013 mixes we won't know exactly how much changed. It seems the song used to be even more stripped back according to the blog post.

  6. Jack talks a bit about Ocean Blvd in a new interview.

Tell us about how you approach vocal recording. Do you have a typical approach that you use across multiple projects or is it completely different every time?

“It’s different for everyone. It's based on the context of what's happening. For someone like Lana del Rey, there's a very specific vocal treatment that we carried through her entire recent album. Whereas for other people, there could be different treatments for different songs.

“Lana’s a good example of someone who when I record her, we're just grabbing that moment. It has to be documented from that moment. We don't do overdubs, we don't come in a month later and do more vocals, because it's happening there. So the vocal tone needs to reflect that. The vocal tone has to have a level of the room within it. Not a room mic, but even just in terms of how we're compressing, or where we're placing her, there has to be enough feeling of the space.
